Ancient Acheronian Description: Black of hair, dark eyed with shades of green and purple, they would mostly sprout beards and are pale of skin. They are a tall group of People, some may reach a high a seven foot tall. Their Women are different, lithe yet voluptuous. Some scholars believe the Ancient Acheronians to be closely related to the Giant-Kings that are said to have been the founders of Stygia, long before those now known as Stygian conquered that land. Culture: Stern and evil, the Sorcerers of Ancient Acheron have survived in small havens hidden from the outside world, probably some are in solitary, long lost to memory caves, entombed in some deep magical sleep. These Ancient Acheronians are greater Sorcerers than their surviving kindred. Practising foul necromancy, thaumaturgy of the most evil kind and grisly magic taught to them by devils and demons. They had built towers rather than pyramids and used gold coins for currency. Names: Will be related to Stygian names, though with some vowel changes and different dialect changes, for example; Thoth-Amon, could be sounded like Xhoth-Amun. Example names are: (Male): Aleyin, Baal, Chiron, El, Hadad, Hammon, Hay-Tau, Keret, Mot, Ruti, Sutekh, Thugra Khotan, Tothmerkri, Tsaphon, Xaltotun. (Female): Akavasha, Anat, Asherat, Baalat, Sapas, Xumides. Religion: The Old Serpent, Set. Cultural Features: * +2 Int, +2 Cha, -2 Str, -2 Con; the Ancient Acheronians are keen with great intelligence and powerful in a personal aura, but a thin and frail, most with skeletal like fingers and gaunt faces. * -2 bonus Diplomacy and Gather Information while targeting Non-Acheronians. Though Ancient Acheronians are powerfully charismatic, there is a sinister and rather antisocial aura around them, that makes other Cultures less likely to wish to converse with them. * +2 bonus to Craft (Alchemy), Craft (Herbalism) and Knowledge (Arcana) and any other one Knowledge Skill. * +1 Cultural bonus to all magic attacks when using Curses, Necromancy and Summoning spells. Acheronians are experts in the path of Wizardry in general, but are particularly effective and vindictive when blasting their enemies with curses and dealings with vile energy. * -2 Cultural penalty to all saving throws against Corruption. Ancient Acheronians are probably the most corrupt Human Culture still in existence, if they can be said to be truly Human. It would not occur to a typical Ancient Acheronian to resist being corrupted, or that it was possible to become more corrupted. * Bonus Feat: Can choose one of the following bonus feats at 1st level, even if the prerequisite is not met. Flame-Marked, Hexer, Improved Evil Eye, Ritual Sacrifice, Sorcerous Boon, Summoner, Witch-Sighted. * Starts with 1 point of Corruption. The Ancient Acheronians are a cruel and malicious Culture and truly vindictive, and they show it well. * The Ancient Acheronians get the Noble Blood Feat for free at 1st level. Background Skills: Knowledge (Local: Acheron), Craft (Alchemy), Craft (Herbalism), Knowledge (Arcana), Knowledge (any one). Favoured Class: Commoner Variant (The Lady), Courtier, Noble, Scholar, Temptress. Prohibited Class: Bandit, Barbarian, Commoner, Commoner Variants (except as mention above), Gladiator, Martial Disciple, Mercenary, Noble Cavalry, Nomad, Pirate, Thief, True Commoner.
