Argossean Inlanders (Urban)

Description: Much like their fellow Argosseans, they have Hyborian and Shemite blood mixed with Zingaran, most are dark haired, though their is a strain of tawny coloured hair also. Brown eyed predominates and also strands of an uncommon grey colour.

Culture: The Argossean Inlanders city-dwellers are Craftspersons, Merchants and Labourers who are friendly enough but wary of strangers. As part of a feudal system, but most of the in-cities politics is control by the Merchant Guild Houses.

Names: Typically Argossean.

Religion: Mitra, with a small amount of Shemite and Kothic gods.


Cultural Features:

* Adaptability: As Hyborians they can chose any two skills which they treat as Class Skills and gain a +2 Cultural bonus with them.

* Weapon Familiarity: Argosseans can wield Greatsword and Argossean Longbow as if they were a Martial Weapon.

* +2 Cultural bonus to Gather Information, Profession (any; except Sailor), and any other two chosen as Character's extra Background skills.

* +1 Fate Point.

Background Skills: Knowledge (Local: Argos), Gather Information, Profession (any: except Sailor) or Bluff, and any two other skills chosen by Player.

Favoured Class: Average Commoner, Commoner, Commoner Variant (Crafter), Commoner Variant (Labourer), Commoner Variant (Merchant), Commoner Variant (Scribe), Gladiator, Soldier, Tempter, True Commoner.

Note: So, not to have to many Gladiator in-game, the GM should do a Solo game with Player and put his Character through about four individual fights (healed to full hit points between each fight) to the death in the arena of Messantia or Athos for example, this, before he wins his freedom or is killed in process.

Prohibited Class: Commoner Variant (Sailor), Commoner Variant (The Lady), Courtier, Pirate, Martial Disciple, Noble, Noble Cavalry, Nomad.

Automatic Languages: Argossean.

Bonus Languages: Aquilonian, Kothic, Stygian, Shemitish, Ophirean, Zingaran.
