So, now that things are starting to settle down and accounts have come in... did you vote?

I voted in early election. I'm in Texas, so McCain wins without question. The rest of my ballot was split all over the place. I actually read up on the candidates and voted accordingly. One lady behind me was shocked that there were guides that explained that.

I really wished I hadn't heard that. *sigh*

Did it really surprise you? It doesn't me.

No. I couldn't vote this year. I voted in the primary, but I wasn't in Florida or Virginia long enough to be resident. I'm registered in Arizona, but unfortunately, by the time I got settled it was too late to get an absentee ballot.

I would have voted for Obama. Like you, I've read up on the candidates, but, well I've met McCain, and in my Academy interview, he made a very poor impression on me.

I couldn't bring myself to vote for Obama. Right now I'm praying that the Republicans at least keep the Democrats from a filibuster-proof majority.

Not that I'm a Republican, its just that I think the idea of unchecked power is a BAD idea. And if the Democrats had that filibuster-proof majority, only the Supreme Court would be a check on them and Justice Kennedy isn't exactly someone you want to pin your hopes on.

I was talking to a coworker this morning and he was acting like it was the end of the world. Its not. The Republican party need to find itself - it can't be the Democrats running as "Democrats Light". What I did tell an overzealous coworker is now that Democrats are running the show, you'd better hope and pray that we don't get hit, the economy keeps moving up and things go well. Because now they won't have Bush to blame anymore.

Now that it's over, I really don't have much to say about the election.

Let's just hope something good comes out of it.
