Bongo Island • • • Brief Island Description: One of the larger islands in the West Blue, Bongo Island is world renown for their incredible drums. Their drums are so good in fact, that, their only export is drums! They make all types of drums, from the crazy to cutting-age. Drum sets, Tambourines, Conga, to Steel, Snare, or Log drums; they make 'em all! Above all, though, they're most famous for their out-of-this-world bongos! The bongos are so treasured that pirates often tried to pillage their priceless drums. The World Government concluded that the world needed Bongo Island drums, so they set up a marine base their to police the territory. Now with the protection of the Marines they are more prosperous then ever! On the island you will find loads of things only found on Bongo Island. All the natives are tan to dark skinned and wear drum style clothing. Bongo Island's clothing all resemble drums! Cylindrical shirts and pants with weird bongo shoes that make a beat with every step. Their hair style range from towering, conga drum haircuts for the men, to bongo buns for the women! The houses all resemble different types of drums; the wheels to their carts are drum shaped...it's quite ridiculous! Their jewelry is famous for being beautiful and for it's ability to play music! Ruby tambourine bracelets and earrings, to gold bongo necklaces, that all are capable of playing music! Bongo Island's unique jewelry was, and still is, one of the reasons why pirates loved to plunder it. The trees are unique to Bongo island and are very important. They have giant Bata drum trees that make the perfect material for their drums. The trees are of such good quality that they're capable of making incredibly durable ships. Cannonballs bounce off their hulls and are resistant to fire, but the natives would never sell their beloved trees. Maybe others will though... The landscape and fauna is very unusual! Drum animals with cylindrical bodies: some of the animals actual like to roll instead of walk! Drum flowers that make beats when the sunrise and a soothing drum sound during the night. The most famous piece of scenery, by far, is the Bongo Bongo Mountains. They are two mountains that are incredibly close to each other that resemble a set of bongo drums. This is where the island get's it's name from and is the first thing noticeable from sea. Locations: The Gorilla Sanctuary: Gorillas have long been the symbol of this island because they are the only animal ever know to play the bongos. A sizable wild population of the country's native gorillas live in a pristine jungle with magnificent green trees and numerous crag. They looked after by an old couple who came here on their honeymoon and never left. Since they're getting on in years, poaching has become an unfortunately lucrative venture on the island. The Drum Circle: The seat of government on Bongo Island, the drum circle is where residents go to discuss the hopes, accomplishments, fears, and grievances. All submissions must be made rhythmically and anyone who can maintain the beat is allowed to offer input. This only happens during the evening, though. By day, it serves as a production center for most of the drums (mainly bongos) produced here. The Glass Half-Full: The ritziest restaurant on the entire island. It is patronized primarily by the wealthiest natives and well-to-do passersby. The cuisine here is predictably impeccable, and all the drinks contain champagne in some form or other. The real draw here only ever happens on slow days. If you're very lucky you will be there on a day when the bartender play glasses filled with varying volumes of water as a single celestial instrument. Edited by Scarlet, Feb 21 2018, 02:26 AM.
