Abyssal Island • • • Brief Island Description: Abyssal Island, a small crescent shaped island, once an uninhabited sign of darkness, has now become a lifeless rock representing death. In the past the island was once beautiful to some. It was covered in a dense forest that for some odd reason grew leaves of a black color. This forest was known as Teiden Forest and covered almost the entire island. The only part uncovered by the forest were the very inner edges of the crescent, and the very outer edges. The outer edges were known as Tsuki Beach while the inner edges gained the name Shin'en Kingdom. In the middle of the entire island was a giant hole known as The Black Hole. It is said that this hole had no bottom, and a person would fall for eternity if they entered it. In current times the island is but a dusty mirror of it's old self. Large chunks of it are gone, and almost all the trees have been burned from it's surface. It is essentially a barren rock that floats on the water. A dark tribe of people who pray to the gods of the black forest live here, hoping that their dark gods will one day bless them with another forest of the night. Shin'en Kingdom no longer stands, minus one small castle now known as Shin'en Shine. Tsuki Wasteland once the beach is still there but now filled with swords, cannonballs, and other barren left artifacts of battle. And the forest is now just the Teiden Patch a small area where the tribe maintain the trees, hoping they'll live again. The only thing still there is the giant hole that lies in the islands center. Besides the dark people, there are large black panthers who once hid in the forest that now come out and prowl around the island. They hide inside the Endless Caves fighting daily with the dark tribe, and any others who happen to land on the island. Locations: The Pit: The most striking geographic feature on the island. As near as anyone can tell, it just goes down and down forever endlessly. People who visit the island often make a point to drop something down into it as a sort of right of passage. Most residents just use it for things like getting rid of an ex's possessions. Criminals, however, have been known to throw incriminating things into the pit. That is why Abyssal island has become an unwelcome destination for these types. There's probably a hoard down there for anyone foolhardy enough to venture down. Abbadon's Place: Considering the pit, you can't really say that Abyssal Island has a criminal underbelly, but this place is definitely a gathering spot for the figurative grimy surface dwellers. Constantly in an active state of disrepair, and with an ineffable sleaziness about it, be sure to have a good reason to go there, or risk getting caught up in something less-than-good. If you're in need of something, you can be sure someone here can get it for you ,for a price. Because of all of the associated riffraff, upstanding residents of the island may be dismissive of travelers who have been seen there. Make-out Point: A massive rocky outcropping overlooking scenic "The Pit", Make-out point is a favorite place for charged-up teenagers from every walk of life on the island. In a manner of speaking, this is where many relationships begin and end on the island, but few last. Occasionally an especially jilted lover will jettison the subject of their scorn into the pit, but it's notoriously difficult to prove that it was intentional. |
