"Actually, I have a better idea..." He swam from the room, after a few minutes he came back in, nearly breaking the door down as the giant eel bucked to get him off, "She doesn't let anyone but Kala ride her, but I'm gonna try anyway, she's strong and fast, and has a nose like you can't imagine." She finally stopped flailing and floated obediently, waiting for her moment to get the guy off of her. Two maids came in with a large sack, "Here are some good supplies for you two, food, navigation equipment, and some good tools. Knives and arrows are inside too." They tied it on to the eel's saddle very carefully and backed away, leaving quietly "Alright! Les' do it! If you could keep up I'd say go for it, but it is impossible, regular eels are the same speed as a one tail, a giant magicaly enhanced one like Fluffy is crazy fast! So sit behind me and hold on to the saddle, there's a belt if u want it since u have no legs." He smirked, the eel wiggled impatiently, it may not have liked its riders, but she was happy to be going out and let some energy free. |

Vale glared at Fluffy like she was some kind of terrortist or something. He hated that eel. However, he slowly swam behind Gefren and took hold of the belt, putting it around his slim waist. He made sure it was fastened so that, if he slipped, it would not crush his ribs and organs, but would dimply pull him along (which would be more water resistance for Fluffy, but he didn't really care). His fingers latched onto the back of the saddle, then he thought better of it. That would never do. His grip would slip almost instantly, or his fingers would cramp, which might make him useless in case of an emergency. Vale quickly took a sheet off of his bed and ripped a thick, long strip from it. "Tell your father I'm terribly sorry about the sheets and that I'll repay him, if he wants," the older prince said as he worked quickly to tie the strip to the back of the saddle. He then held the two ends in his hands. Much better. And not only that, but he could probably see farther than Gefren this way. "Alright. I think this should do it." We're coming, Kala. Hang on. So, that was horribly overdue. So sorry. |

WOOT for posting!! "Zien tull cri cri!" Gefren lightly shook the reins and Fluffy whipped around in a 360 in a blink of an eye. Gefren was a little dazed, but Fluffy was fine. She curled her tail and rocketed out of the room, swimming so fast that Gefren was useless, even if he had his wits about him he wouldn't have been able to maneuver her, luckily Fluffy was aware that she was inside and had riders and luggage. However, the eel still went upside down and was able to find a window exit that fit them all through. She stopped abruptly and eyed her surroundings while waiting for instructions. Gefren held the reins tightly, "Weng... Weng..." He shook his head, "I don't understand how Kala can possibly ride her! Good thing she knows where she is going or else we'd be in trouble... Speedy thing!" He snorted and leaned over to speak clearer to the restless eel, "Juien ehst-" he paused to think, "Juien ehst colof denn trion kie, kie, wefyi," He was thrown back as Fluffy took off towards their destination. He was able to hold on with his strong legs and the rein assistance, but he had to glance back at Vale, just in case he had been thrown. However, the straps had held fast. Gefren was able to get his bearings again now that they were going in a strait line with little to no obstacles- yet. He leaned down and tightened the straps holding his feet- just in case. Then he turned his head to look at Vale again, "We'll stop for rest in a few hours and food, but we shouldn't seperate. Around here, two people of our status would be good hostages... Well, right now it's no problem since we're still in the kingdom, but we're nearing the last few houses... Speaking of dangerous, probably shouldn't make myself a target," He held the reins tightly with one hand and slipped off his shirt most of the way, then grabbed the reins again and slipped it through his other arm and stuffed it in the bag he had with him near the front. It took him a little while due to their speeds, but he was able to do so relatively quickly. He was wearing a plain green undershirt, but even so some small muscles could be seen. For as young as he was he was following in his father's footsteps of being overly muscled compared to others his age and size. He turned his head to see Vale again, "You should have gotten a hair cut first, we'll look like hobos by the time we get there at this speed, long hair wont help..." He smirked and touched his short, slightly-spiked hair, grateful for its easy care. ---------------------- Kala was nearly blinded by the sudden light when her blindfold was removed. She coughed as they took the gag from her mouth as well. She glared at everyone surrounding her. "Well, aren't you well behaved, Little Goddess?" The two-legged merman swam to her and picked her up, throwing a sack to her captors as they nodded and left. "What the hell do you want with me, you sick bastard!?" She elbowed his chest and wiggled once she was free from his arms, trying to get the cuffs off that were tieing all her limbs together, but to no avail. The merman rubbed his chest where she had elbowed him and picked her up again, being more aware now, "Don't you recognize where you are? You should know. This is the birthplace of mankind, this temple was where the human baby fell from its mother... Then he was scooped onto the land. This is where humanity was born, so this is where it should end. Using your power I'll be able to wipe the humans off the globe, then you can go- if you're still alive of course..." She wiggled again, "That makes no sense!" Her body glowed as he swam into the temple. "No sense, of course..." He walked to the center where there was a large circle in the coral floor of the temple, the sand in that circle sparkled white like no other. "No one is suppose to touch the sand, it doesn't matter who it is, no one is suppose to touch it! Let me go!" She increased her struggling in vain. The merman ignored her and swam above the circle, then let her go so she would fall on it, quickly swimming away to safety and activating the mechanisms attached to the temple. She gritted her teeth nervously, would it vaporize her? would she die here? Then she felt the sand and curled up, but nothing happened. She watched in amazement as the cuffs around her disintegrated. She forgot about her current situation and floated for a moment, her body felt so powerful, it glowed even brighter. Then a sharp pain hit her side and blood hit the beautiful sand below her. The arrow had come from her captors, "This aint enough!" The arrow disintegrated as the sand turned a deep black. Kala gasped as she felt her mind collapse as something evil and dark crept over her thoughts. Just like that, the temple and everything inside it besides her, became dust. I didn't like my post, sorry it wasn't very good writing... I wasn't in the mood for super arty, eloquent writing I guess! |

That's sort of a toughy to reply to. It was better before you added on to it, I think. It sort of confused the flow of time and the relevancy of distance. His hair wasn't that bad! It just barely reached past shoulder length. Besides, it was custom in his kingdom for princes to grow out their hair. Yes, it was sometimes impractical, but it was fine right then, especially going at those speeds. It just fanned out behind him. Vale glared half-heartedly at Gefren. The boy was infuriating without realizing it, the older prince thought. If he were in Vale's kingdom, his utter rudeness and lack of tact would have him thrown out almost immediately. But they were in Kardon Kingdom, so Gefren was free to say whatever he pleased and Vale simply had to get over it. "Did you see that?" Vale asked, squinting at a dust cloud in the distance. Due to his innovative sheet handles, he could probably see farther than Gefren. "Go left a bit, then straight." Vale would have let go and swam there himself, but he knew that Fluffy was at least two times faster than him and that he couldn't waste the energy that he might need upon arrival. He didn't know what could cause such a large dust cloud in the ocean, but he knew that wherever there was chaos, Kala was most likely there as well. Or that's how it seemed from his short visit to this kingdom so far. Kala was the equivalent of disaster. That much Vale had learned on his own. Unfamiliar with the place, Vale didn't know where they were headed, or what had once stood in the place of all the dust. He had a feeling it was important and that, if this rescue mission went awry, then he'd most likely be blamed for that, as well... |

Soz... ![]() Gefren turned and looked towards the dust, "Probably just some eels stirring the water... They do that when they get into fights. That one is awfully close to the temple though. It wouldn't hurt to see, I guess..." He leaned over and was able to explain where they wanted to go now, the eel turned rapidly towards the dust cloud. Once within clearer sight, the eel hissed and stopped abruptly. Gefren frowned and pet the eel, "Zew, heshien..." The eel refused to continue, hissing loudly. The area was strangely quiet and deserted, actually. Gefren slipped off the eel, "Stay here with her, okay?" He took out a knife and went into the clearing waters. "Woah... The whole area is covered in dust..." He yelled in suprise, then became excited, "Vale, I found her! She's covered in blood though..." He reached out to touch her, but as soon as he reached within the circle the unconcious merwoman floated in, she awoke. The blood stayed against her clothing and body, dying it an eerie crimson red and black. She sent him flying back with her tails and was gone in the blink of an eye, even if Fluffy would have gone after her, the swim would have probably been fruitless, she obviously did not want to be caught... A path of dead animals and plants was left behind her. Within a short spanse of time she was already far from sight. Gefren got up and swam back to the eel, his hand was badly injured, it looked like it had been burned or dissolved slightly. The scar would be permanent... He wrapped it in kelp immediatly and held his arm, "I don't know what's wrong with her, but she obviously doesn't want to be found... We could go to the outcasts, but I will go no farther, then you'll be on your own. There's something not right about this picture! Look at my fuckin' hand!" He held it harder and put some gel on it, to numb the pain. |

Stay with the eel?! Stay with the eel?! Stay with the... Vale fumed as he held Fluffy's reins. He was older, he should have been the one to leave. However, he couldn't very well leave Fluffy to her own devices, no could he? So he obediantly (though impatiently) waited. When Gefren got back, his hand looked painfully wounded. The young prince treated it with gel, then wrapped it, and Vale swallowed thickly. "You take Fluffy and get back to your father. Who knows what's wrong with your hand. It needs to be treated, and maybe the scar won't be so bad." As Vale spoke, his tone leaving no room for arguement and more stern than Vale had ever heard it, he removed the bag from Fluffy's saddle. He placed the strun bow over one shoulder so that he would have it ready if needed. This was his task, anyway, and as the eldest of the two, it was his responsibility to make sure the younger prince remained safe. He didn't need anymore liabilities. "If I don't return, it was nice to have met you, Gefren," Vale said, bowing slightly before taking off in the direction Kala had gone. It wasn't hard to follow the trail. Yes, it would take a long time to find te goddess, but he was a fast swimmer and could go for quite a while if he paced himself. As a messenger, unlike more princes, Vale was very much in shape. Gefren, too, was in shape, but he was more muscular than Vale, and muscle was more weight to push around. Not only that, but it took much more energy to swim with two legs than one tail. Following the trail of death and decay nearly made Vale turn back and swim as rapidly as possible for Kardon Kingdom, but he quickly squashed it. It was either this or gods knew how many more years of war between the two kingdoms. Failure was not an option. Absolutely unthinkable. ---- Some time later, Vale could sense that someone was near. He readied his bow and knocked an arrow, but didn't draw the long string just yet. His eyes constantly scanned the area. The bad thing about two leggeds when tracking them was that it was easier for them to hide than merpeople with just tails. However, with two legs and two tails, he doubted Kala could hide extremely well. "Kala? Is that you? Would you please talk to me? It's Vale - Aodhán. Please, let me help you." He didn't know what had happened, but perhaps it had something to do with Kala being a god reincarnate. If that were true, then Vale would need to appeal to the Goddess. He would have to be Aodhán, not Vale. |

Gefren snorted as Vale left, Gefren could not swim as fast as Vale, and he could not leave Fluffy, he had to return home. He sighed, hoping Vale would be alright as he jumped on the spooked eel and was whisked back to his kingdom. --------- "Fij nueun ne. Osen cros'ien..." The language did not sound like what Gefren or any of the two leggeds spoke. "Vennenuke scion trosth," Even though Kala was speaking, it was hard to tell where she was; she was keeping well hidden. Suddenly she shot from the sand and shot the acidic power that had scarred Gefren at Vale. It mearly became dust that brushed his face lightly. Kala shot another that did nothing. She lost her smug smirk and looked at him fearfully as she turned and swam away, the last of the blood on her body floating carelessly in the water after it had fell from her body. Only her clothes remained a reddish color. She still left a path of dead creatures behind her as she dove through things and did maneuvers to try and make herself a harder target to catch up with and follow... |

The powder alighting on his face startled him. He realized that it was probably supposed to be hurting him, but it wasn't, and even as the smug look fell from Kala's face, it reappeared on his. As far as acidic powder went, he was safe. However, he noticed that his skin shimmered brilliant colors wherever the powder touched, as if a rainbow of light were resting in his skin, just waiting to be unleashed. Reds, oranges, blues, greens, and everything in between flashed on his skin wherever the powder landed, and he could not brush it away, no matter how hard he tried. However, he had little time to marvel over this, as Kala shot off once again with a fearful expression on her admittedly beautiful face. Vale started after her once more, patient and steady, pacing himself. Her path was more complicated this time, but he knew how to track, and there wasn't much of anywhere to go. He could see no civilization around, and nor did he suspect Kala would go into a city of any kind. If she did, with this path of chaos and destruction, there would be many, many casualties. Unless Kala was some kind of superperson now (which seemed plausible), she would be tiring soon, Vale had to hope. He knew she wasn't normal by any standards, just as he wasn't, but it was still a thought he clung to. Perhaps the fates would transpire in his favor for once. "Kala, please!" he cried, looking down at his torso. The barrage of colors was spreading. It covered almost his entire torso and stomach, and all of his right shoulder and arm. He knew not if it was good or bad, but it didn't hurt, and he ignored it for the time being. Either it would fade or he would become the most colorful merperson ever to swim the seven seas... I don't want Vale's new colors to fade... just so you're aware.

I wasn't gonna mess with them I love your posts by the way, this is getting supa fun! ^.^ I hope for you too ![]() Kala hissed, swimming to a lifeless area of the ocean floor. She rubbed herself against the soft sand, leaving behind a black powder, before continuing the chase. She now left nothing dead behind her as she had before. She was able to hide in a large patch of seaweed, blending her own colors with the seaweed as a chameleon would. She watched him, then waited for a moment, getting behind him and giving him a, suprisingly, strong whack with her tails and swimming away from him. She then swam closer, the seaweed around him grabbed onto him and held him in an iron grip. She swam close enough to examine him, "Chion verook, siio? Veenret!" She looked at him sternly for a moment before swimming behind him, examining his tail. She then swam in front of him and thought, looking at her own legs. "Shion, nosen thiiguji?" She now glared at him, shaking a finger. |

Thank you. ^^; Seaweed bondage? Kinky... If Vale hadn't been so startled by the sudden lack of trail, he might have been focused enough to see and deflect the oncoming attack. However, as he was startled, Kala effectively slammed her tails into his back with such force that Vale went tumbling into a bed of seaweed. He quickly tried to right himself - if she was this close, then he couldn't lose her again! - but the seaweed held him tightly, refusing to let up even a little bit. A few strands broke, but then he realized something: if he got free again, Kala would only continue running. Although adrenaline kept him moving for now, fatigue was quickly catching up with him, and he couldn't continue this chase. He suddenly went limp, and the seaweed seemed to tighten its grip, if, indeed, that were possible. He looked down at his bare chest and saw that the colors had spread over his entire right side and were continuing onto his back. His entire front was covered in dazzling colors, and it was also spreading into his tail, turning the normally purple and golden scales into reflective, resplendent splashes of color. Then, suddenly, Kala was right in front of him, speaking a language he couldn't hope to decipher. He knew many languages, but had never been permitted to learn any used in this kingdom, and this one he certainly didn't know. His eyes widened as she spoke. Gods only knew what she would do, with that disapproved look on her face. If she could leave a trail of death, what could she do to one lone merman? "Kala, it's me, Aodhán." He could only hope that the name would bring some response out of her that wouldn't mean death for Vale. Ha! Vale is becoming the beacon for gay pride. Haha! |

Lol, you think so dirty! But that does give me an idea... No no, just kidding Oop! ![]() Kala swam right in front of him, her face only an inch from his. She looked him right in the eyes, then circled his body before floating in front of him at a comftorable distance, "Jooen woqu ghist no vensen Aodhán?" She looked at him sternly again, then snapped her fingers and swam closer. She began looking through his hair, then she rubbed a finger, hard, against his scalp for a moment. She smiled and touched the seaweed; it quickly released him. As the seaweed fell back to its normal behavior Kala tackled Vale in a loving hug onto the ocean's floor. She then stopped, she was now sitting on his midsection, one leg on each side of him, a hand on each of his sholders as she stared down at him. "Tessoon vi losep pozet, chius adroon, Aodhán?" She looked at him sadly. "Zu cere kineb adon?" She dragged one of her hands up her throat and from her chin then shrugged her sholders, trying to convey what she was saying in visual representation. The ribbon wrapped around Vale again as it had done before, caressing his skin gently. The ribbon then appeared around her due to their prolonged contact. |

It's not my fault! I never used to be! -sobs- Vale flinched when a finger rubber at his scalp, but otherwise didn't move. He held his breath in nervous anticipation. Her stern look had him on edge. Once again, his imagination ran rampant, thinking about how much carnage this mermaid could do to one lone merman. When the seaweed released him, before he could react properly, he was falling back through the water, Kala clinging to his front in a hug unlike any he had ever before received. The sandy ocean bottom was rough against his smooth skin. He watched as Kala dragged a hand up her throat and chin, then shrugged. Was she trying to say that she couldn't understand him? He couldn't tell. Ribbons appeared around him, then began spreading to Kala as well. He ignored them. He noticed how they began to split his single fin into two legs, which had happened the last time they had touched for any extended period of time, but he ignored that as well. Now wasn't the time to worry about such things. He pointed to himself. "Aodhán." He pointed to Kala. "Kayaneseque." He lifted his hand and placed it over Kala's, intertwining their fingers. He noticed that now his entire left hand was brilliantly colored as well, and he pushed back his curiosity and wonder."Together." He gestured back toward Kala's kingdom, where King Leon and the others were waiting for them - or, more accurately, for Kala, not him. "Leave." He wished he knew what she was saying. He wished he wasn't a god reincarnate (he was now convinced and had no doubt that he was, in fact, Aodhán), but he was, and it was his duty to lead Kala - his prophetic mate - back home while keeping her from destroying the entire oceanic ecosystem with her trails of carnage. He gave her delicate hand a reassuring squeeze and looking directly into her golden eyes with his own. They were the only two of their kind, two branches of the same tree, two fruits of the same vine. They had to stick together. Although Vale had not much cared for Kala so far, he thought he might adjust, if she would also work to adjust. He was arrogant, and she was spoiled, unwordly. Pride and prejudice. What a pair they made... |

Im at my grandma's again until Monday, so I'll be able to post tomorrow- later in the evening since we'll be driving most of the morning ![]() Kala seemed to ignore everything he was trying to communicate to her. She let go of his hand and pondered for a moment. She finally said, in a sort of scratchy voice you would think a pitchy teenager would be speaking, "Time- Wrong- Seacant- No no!" She put a finger over his mouth and snorted angrily. She sighed and stammered again, her voice starting to return to its normal pitch, "Wait while I think speech back... No- Wrong... Wait while I remember this language... Better- Okay, I think you understand me now?" She cleared her throat and postured herself, "I think I remembered it- mostly. Excuse bad grammar for time. Excuse my bad grammar for the time being... While I remember! Alright, much better!" She pulled her hair from her face and looked down at Vale, "If you were really him, you'd know how to lure me anywhere. You must be his reincarnate, just like Kala is mine. I would love to return to her home, but if I am in control of this body, this means Kala is disappearing. I would love to be alive again, but this is only half of my memories, besides, you children are suppose to live your own lives, so I will not rob her of it. Now, as for my increasing intellect- imagine being born and having full control of your body and being chased by someone," She snorted at him, "Now, as my mind caught up, I was able to become more aware and intelligent, eventually recalling everything in this body- the parts that are mine at least. Anyway, I cannot return, someone shot me while over the birthplace of my child- a sacred place. It is now tainted, and for things to return to normal, as they will soon be very bad, we have much work to do," She got off him and smirked slightly at his 'tail-less' lower-half. "What's your name then? What do you do? How old are you? Tell me about yourself... I bet you are just like him," She frowned slightly at the thought, they were both dead, why was life so cruel to bring her back like this and without him? A few fish swam to her and she smiled a little. Soon many sea creatures had surrounded her and her face brightened again, "You have all made me happy, I'm sorry to upset you!" The sea creatures crooned to her and swam around her more urgently. "You don't have to stay, I would hate to take you away from important tasks!" She giggled when they settled around the two of them- more calm now that she was happy again. "I forgot about all the wonderful sea creatures and how sensitive they are to my emotions! I forgot to ask how far along you were with your powers too! I'm sure they are all second nature to you by now! You were always a fast learner!" |

I'm so out of practice. Apologies in advance for my failure. Confused simply didn't cut it. Absolutely, totally, and irrevicably confused might be closer. Vale stared for a moment, golden eyes wide. Wasn't it enough that his skin was glowing all colors of the rainbow? Wasn't it enough that he'd had to chase Kala - or whoever this was - across the ocean? Wasn't it all enough without this, too? With a deep breath, Vale thought about this very carefully. He was no longer speaking to Kala, but Kayaneseque, the goddess. Meaning there were two separate people in her body. So, were there two separate people in Vale's body? No, he could somehow sense that there was only himself. Perhaps he and Aodhán were so similar that they had become one identity, whereas Kala had been completely different from this mermaid in front of him. Perhaps they were so similar that they simply could not be told apart, and so they were one. That would make sense. "Uh, I'm Valerian Taavi, second son of King Kardon. Um, I'm nineteen and I'm a messenger and tracker. However, lately, I'd don't really know what I've become," Vale answered, gesturing to his own body, which still shone polychromatic. From red to black spots, he was the most colorful sea creature he'd ever seen. He was practically his own coral reef. Even his tail, once violet and golden, was now all sorts of color, no two scales the same shade. "I... I don't really know all of the history behind thsi reincarnation, and I know very little about the old tales. As a child, I wasn't allowed to learn stories." Vale couldn't really imagine a more awkward situation. "And I wouldn't say my powers are second nature quite yet, but I'm working on it." Vale smiled slightly, then made himself turn invisible, though he doubted that it would work on Kala. If he could dodge her poison powder whatever-it-was, then surely she could see him clearly still. But, then again, he could be wrong. However, he had figured out how to work his invisibility. It had to do with being able to both camouflage himself and bend the colors in light. It sounded more complicated than it was, Vale knew, but it had helped him learn how to control it more accurately than before. |

'Tis fine Kayanesque looked at him with calm understanding, "Here's a better way to look at it..." A blue, plain merperson body appeared next to a plain, yellow merperson body. She pointed to the blue, "This is Kala," then she pointed to the yellow, "This is me." She put a finger on each and half of them was dragged together to make a a bicolored, plain merperson. "This is the soul it becomes, the mind, then they combine as the new baby develops..." The bicolored body came together to become a plain, green merperson body. "However, to make the same contents, half of each are taken. I am only half of myself, Kala is only half of herself. You are the same, Valerian Taavi... When I was shot, we were seperated since the depurification of one of my sacred 'landmarks' triggered my seperate awakening. However, half of a merperson can only last for so long. We must repurify the area and find a way to awaken Kala so we may combine again. It is not so black and white in reality, but that is the closest way to explain it." She scratched her chin and smirked, "You can turn invisible well..." She swam to the ocean floor again, "There is a way you could help. If you enter my mind, you could reawaken her, but it would be extremely dangerous, plus we need to purify that area again. You know of any holy merpeople who could do a job like that? Don't you have temples at your home too? Or... somewhere? I don't know about the things of this time..." She giggled a little, it was a very light, childish giggle that did not match her proper manner. She stopped and touched his chest, "You're only nineteen? You look older- in a good way." She smirked again and patted his head like he was a small child. |
