He listened patiently, then he smiled gently, "First thing I want you to do is to calm down. Ever since you were a baby I knew you were special, though I never thought of that- which you think I would... I digress!" He sighed and thought, "Now, you see, the problem with my helping you is that I neither possess the magical power, the ability to funnel such power, nor most of the ingredients needed for the spell it would take. But, we might as well try regardless! You say you have magic then? I suggest you find your center then, fairly quickly while I gather supplies. If Kayanesque's body is deteoriorating, she will be of no use to us in the magic field," He grabbed a large book from the main shelf.

He thumbed through the book quickly before nodding, "Take me to her, she must know if this spell would work. If it will not I will have to search a more extensive library, which would not be good under such a time frame..." He held the book under one arm, prepared to follow Vale.

Calm down? Calm down! Did he not understand what was happening? If Kala died now, and she was destined to be reborn over and over, then it would mess up the cycle. Aodhán and Kayanesque were meant to be together, and if one died too soon, or too late, then everything would be messed up. They'd be unable to be together. Which, although Vale didn't feel much more than physical attraction for Kala, he knew that there was something between them.

He couldn't exactly "calm down," but he did quit shaking Father, who retrieved a book from a tall shelf.

"Take me to her."

Vale didn't need to be told twice. Grabbing his old teacher's free hand, he immediately took off. But his teacher was slow, as most merpeople his age were. Taking a deep breath, Vale focused on the power that he knew lingered just below the surface, constantly illuding him when not in Kala's presence. He could do this without her. He had to.

He opened his eyes just in time to see the ribbons stretch from his hand to Father's. He could do it! He had done it! They both instantly shot forward, going double the speed or more for half of the effort. "That should help us catch up," Vale said, allowing a small smile to grace his features before he looked back ahead, because he was still leading them and he had only the memory of which direction Kala had gone in to lead them.

If you're gonna hit it, hit it until it breaks.

He watched the ribbons in disbelief, "Why, this is remarkable!"

Kayanesque came into view in someone's garden at the back of an old home. She weakly leaned against the side of the building. As soon as they got close the ribbons turned black and became ash that fluttered away into nothingness.

"I am Father Disom'nen, I am here to try and help you..." He swam to her and opened the book, "Will this work..."

She looked down at the spell, "If he is strong enough, but I seriously doubt it. I don't have the strength to help him, he will surely die..."

"But it could work?" Father asked, looking to Vale.

She nodded and pointed to one of the words on the ingredients list, "Vale must do this as well, harvest and bless it before adding it to the mixture, if anyone else touches this the whole concoction will be tainted and will only do more damage. All other ingredients you may touch..." She closed her eyes, resting.

"Alright Vale, if you're sure..." He began mixing together ingredients in a small glass he had brought, murmuring the incantation. He then handed a pocket knife to Vale and the glass, which of course was sealed with magic so the ingredients would not wander. "You must harvest three drops of your pureblood. There are only three areas of your body where this may be drawn; the center of your wrists, space where your collarbone connects itself at the base of your neck in the middle, or the underbelly of your tongue at least within an inch of the base of it. I would suggest the wrist; it is the fastest and the easiest and is not horribly painful, but it will heal slowly... Then you must put the mixture around your eyes and on your eyelids, then put it on her face. The rest of it you both need to drink..."

Kayanesque opened her eyes weakly, "Then enter my mind, I do not know how long it will last, so you must try and be quick about retrieving her or we will both die slowly and very painfully..."
