Alaia laughed softly at Terry. She finished eating and listened to Terry's father. So that's what the war was about. Her heart leaped. So the Midori weren't the reason for the war! When he asked her a question, she said "Yes, please sir." She wanted to see it, badly! |

Theobald said, “As you wish. It’ll give you something to do tomorrow besides being here all alone in a stuffy castle. My apologies Lady, but you are unable to attend. Our laws restrict who is allowed to be present at assemblies when it concerns matters such as this. Outsiders and the public are prohibited from being there. I will ask the Athena Foundation to issue you an aidebot temporarily so that you be notified of the hearings as they happen. I will have a couple of my assistants escort you to the Midori Camp and you may stay there as long as you wish tomorrow.” He looked around the table and said, “Now about tomorrow. Son, there are those that feel that you are not a real Icarian because you have lived nearly your entire life on Earth. They feel that one such as you isn’t fit to be a member of this family and there are those that you aren’t even suitable to live among us. Cicero if you provide the visuals.” The aidbot hovered in front of them, awaiting its orders. “Here is where we are going tomorrow: The Oracle Dome.” A beam of light shown forth from Cicero’s mouth and coalesced into a holographic image of a domed structure. “There are 410 elected members from across our land. The rest are comprised of nobles such as us and esteemed scholars who have attained the ranking of Grand Master such as Reynaldo. In my father’s time, we used the have the very wealthy, the top 4 percent. However, the public felt that this wasn’t appropriate. Iakona, this means that until the Council has decided your fate, you have a place and a vote on the High Council.” Terry couldn’t believe his ears, he’d actually have a say on preserving his rank. “There is no clear leader in the faction that opposes you and this may help our case. The leader of the Council is Chancellor Aeneas.” The image of a man’s head rotated before them. There was a vertical scar running down his face over his right eye. “His position on your case is unclear; you have been here less than a day after all. However, he is fiercely nationalistic. His role will be the same as normal. He will be an arbiter and set the pace of the proceedings. If needed to break a tie, he will do so. I hope it doesn’t come to that. My advice for you would be to not talk unless asked to. You do not have the training to actively participate in the debate. Your opponents would fly circles around you. That will be all Cicero.” The aidbot reteated from its spot. |

Alaia bowed her head for a moment in understanding before nodding. "I understand.." It only made sense that she wasn't allowed, fist off she wasn't even a Icarian! She was anxious to go but didn't show it. She looked calm and rather happy at the moment. Alaia listened to the king talk but didn't pay over all complete attention to him, since he wasn't talking to her, or about anything that really concerned her. Alaia glanced at Terry and the king before looking down at her empty plate. Her dress covered her tail, and her tail was to the side of her right leg, swishing back and forth, moving the dress with it. She thought. This was strange. A new place, almost a new world! She wished she could tell her mother and father right now, that they were Midori, but she knew she couldn't. |

Terry accepted what his father told him. This was all new to him and he didn’t want to ruin his chances. He said, “I understand. What time is this meeting?” Theobald said, “First thing in the morning. Now that we’ve finished, let me show you to your room. When you got lost, it remained a nursery. We didn’t touch a thing, but when we received news that you came back, we worked nonstop to make suitable for a teenager. Your brother is a few years older than you and knows more about what young people like than I do.” Terry was a little leery of what his room might look like. Yea, I may be a teenager, but I have no idea what Icarians my age like or what's considered the norm. His father stood up and the others did too. Terry did as well. Theobald said, “Come with me.” The family left the table and headed out the door and into another hallway which seemed more personalized, more homelike. |

Alaia listened. She was unsure whether to follow them or not. So when they headed out the door and into another hallway, she followed but followed at a distance. She was happy for Terry. He had finally found his real family. She had learned that her parents were indeed Midori. She wondered what Terry's room would look like.. |

Theobald said, “Unlike the rest of the castle, this area is designated for family and guests only.” It made sense to Terry. There had to be areas that were off limits to the public. There were still guards roaming the halls though, but not as many as in the other areas. Workers passed them by. They nodded their heads and wiped the sweat off their foreheads. His father stopped one of them and asked, “Is the room ready?” The man said, “Yes Eminence. We have finished the room per the elder prince’s instruction and description. We will come back if it isn’t to the Prince Iakona’s liking.” They walked on and around the corner. Curtains were parted and tied to the columns here. Theobald said, “Here we are. Fifteen years have passed since you lived here. Go on in.” The boy’s hand gripped the handle. He turned it and the door opened up. He looked back and everyone stayed there to give him privacy. It was different from his Earth room, but he felt comfortable here. There was a huge bed off in the corner. Next to it was a desk with an odd pillar connected to it. Opposite was a mirror. On the wall there was a painting which referenced some Icarian hero. In an adjacent room, there was a bathroom. There was a closet, but there were no clothes in it. It appeared to be one of those clothing machines that were in the guardhouse. He went to the window and saw that his room overlooked the garden. The floor was tiled and a huge rug inhabited the middle. Jung hovered overhead and went to the odd pillar. The top opened up and the aidebot settled in place. He chirped, “Nice to rest a bit. Why are you looking at me like that? I have to rest somewhere.” Terry had a bemused appearance on his face. Philemon elaborated, “The pillar/desk combination is very efficient. The aidebot can sit in its place and interact with its assignee. It also serves as a place to charge its power and network with its kin.” Jung does appear to look content being there. How should I know how the robots are powered here? (ooc: I don’t exactly have any kind of idea what everyone is supposed to do today. Suggestions?) |

ooc: Hmm.. Maybe they can take a walk in the garden and maybe later assign a aide bot to Alaia? bic: Alaia respectfully stood behind the rest of the family, waiting Terry to look at his room. He opened the door and she stood still waiting for well, really nothing. She could see part of the room and from where she stood, it looked pretty cool in there. She smiled softly at Jung. He was quite silly... |

(ooc: Yup, quite silly. The idea is that aidebots are designed to be compatible for their assignee.) Theobald said, “If you are finished looking at your room, let us show you the rest of your home.” Everyone exited the room and headed back the way they came and down a flight of stairs. Terry’s father said, “I’m curious as to how you two met. Tell me about your lives below. They call you by Terry?” Terry wasn’t sure what to say and wasn’t sure how his father knew his Earth name. He then remembered that they had been watched earlier. He said, “The man who raised me took my Arcadia name and used it like as the Earthers do, so I was called Terrence Arcadia. Terry is an abbreviated form used as informal name. This man was a teacher much like you Grand Master.” Reynaldo smiled and said, “It is fortunate that he was a wise man. What did he teach?” Terry said, “He specialized in the study of ancient civilizations. He knows languages and taught me a language called Greek which he believed was similar to Icarian.” Celeste said, “It is good fortune that he did so that we can speak to you.” Theobald said, “Regarding language, it is cumbersome for you Lady Alaia not to know our language. There are two ways we can go about resolving this problem. First, have the aidebot we assign you act as translator or ingest a data wafer. I would do the later because they aren’t always reliable. In fact, Iakona, you should take one too. It would help clean up your language. Don’t worry it’s quite harmless. It’s a clear filmy thin circle about this size.” He motioned with his fingers to show how big a data wafer was which was about the size of a quarter. Terry said, “I will take it. It would make conversing easiler.” Theobald said, “That’s the spirit. Plus it would even make you literate in our language. After the tour, we’ll go to the Athena Institute and show you our technology and get an aidebot assigned to you. I think I will let you, Alaia, keep it as a token of our esteem to serve as our continued desire for peace among our two people.” |

Alaia followed the rest of family, but stayed next to Terry. She still felt slightly uncomfortable here.. Alaia still felt uncomfortable about talking with the others, especially about her life on Earth. She nodded at the king. She wanted to know this language. She wondered what her aidebot would look like..This was getting exciting. She, herself was very interested about the technology. "Thank you, sir." She was surprised. She might be able to keep the aidebot that they'd assign to her! |

They reached another chamber. This one had statues, rare vases, and more paintings. On one of the marble walls was a huge screen not unlike a television screen. Terry mused it was as if Ancient Greek architecture was combined with advanced science. His father said, “This is the entertainment room. We come here to relax and it is also used for dances. Now, let me show you our pets.” They headed out through the opposite door and out into the garden. Yet another thing that was exactly like a dream he had. It was the same garden he was in when Philemon called him to meet the Midori delegates. However, there seemed to be more of it, a short tunnel that wasn’t in the dream and he could hear clucking emanating from it. The gathering went through the tunnel and entered a large pasture. He saw several chickens going about, but they were huge being the size of sheep. Theobald said, “Here is my favorite hobby, raising piyoko. It’s a pleasant diversion from my governance. Your grandfather used to paint. He wasn’t good at it, but we kept everyone. However, between the war and donating them to the art galleries, there are only a few here in the palace. Your brother likes to play music. How about you?” Terry replied, “I also play music. I play the harmonica.” Theobald said, “What type in instrument is that?” He tried to explain what the instrument was like, but seeing and hearing is better. Theobald said, “I’d like to see what wonderful music my two sons would make. When you return the world below, come back with this harmonica and…I seem to be getting a head of myself. Best not focus on too far in the future.” His father then looked back at the carefree piyoko pecking at granules of food. |

Alaia followed them into another chamber. She saw a huge screen that looked suspiously like a television screen. When Terry's father spoke, she nodded. Pets? Her tail wagged slightly back and forth. The garden was beautiful, and she heard..Clucking? As they exited the tunnel and entered a pasture, she gasped softly. Giant chickens! Or well, piyoko..But they were huge!! Part of her really wanted to chase one down and eat right now! But then again she knew that it was a horrid idea and a stupid one at that.. Her attention was diverted back to the conversation of the group. Music? She didn't play music. Ok, well she had learned how to play the piano. She thought she was terrible but her mother praised her for her music. Now singing, that one thing she loved to do. She was just shy about singing. Alaia looked back at the piyoko and sighed softly. She couldn't wait to tell her people that they were Midori and the truth about the war... |

Cicero chirped, “The arrangements have been made to go to the Athena Foundation headquarters. You may leave at any moment.” Theobald said, “Thank you Cicero. Well, if you everyone is ready, let’s be going. We can get back by going through the kitchen door.” He pointed at a nearby door attached nearby. Terry wanted to see where Jung was constructed and said, “I’m ready father. How about you Alaia?” |

Alaia heard Cicero announce something. She then listened to Theobald and looked at the door. She turned to Terry, nodded and said "Ready." |

As they entered the kitchen, Reynaldo said, “If you excuse me sire, I have to get back to my research.” Theobald nodded and the Grand Master headed out through another door. The king remarked, “That’s a good man there. If there is anyone who can prevail, it is him. They will listen to his passionate reason.” The family proceeded straight and outside where all sorts of vehicles were stored including the carriage that brought Alaia and Terry. His father said, “We won’t go by carriage. The grounds of the Athena Foundation headquarters aren’t equipped for such a vehicle and it would take too long to get there, we go by air shuttle. The air shuttle resembled a limo, but it was more round making it look like a capsule. They got inside and Terry asked, “Where’s the driver?” Philemon said, “Early models did, but this is the Foundation’s latest model. It drives itself. However, it does have manual controls at the front.” He leaned in and whispered, “Dad tried to drive it and ended up in the river.” Theobald coughed and said, “I heard that. It wasn’t too bad. We got to look at the fish swimming by. Iakona if you please tell it our destination.” Terry said, “Um, Athene Foundation headquarters?” The pod rose in the air and once it had cleared the palace, sped off like a train. A synthesized voice called out, “Athena Foundation Headquarters. Estimated time of arrival: 15 minutes.” Terry’s brother said, “Had we gone by carriage, it would have taken 3 hours to get there.” |

Alaia walked beside Terry into the kitchen. She nodded at Reynaldo as he left, in respect of course. Not by carriage? Air shuttle? Interesting..What was an air shuttle? As they walked she wondered... When she saw one, she was amazed at how much it looked like a limo. No driver and it drove itself, huh? Nice...She thought. She giggled softly at Philemon's comment, for she had heard it too, probably better than Theobald had though. She smiled at Terry and looked around the pod as it speed off and told them where they were going and the estimated time of arrival. |
