Alaia nodded and after the others did, she put the automaton next to the others. She smiled at the sight of a 'classroom' of sorts for the automaton. She listened to the aidebot, Locar. This was interesting. She was glad to know such things now, she was sure the info would be helpful in the future. |

Alexandra said, “We will move on so our students won’t get distracted. Do training automatons get distracted Locar?” Her aidebot replied, “We try not to be.” The next room was large and spacious filled with all sorts of machines. Alexandra explained, “Here in this room, is the final phase. Afterwards, automatons are assigned to wherever they are needed. Since they received equal education, they are all equally qualified. However, some personalities work better in some places than others." Newly educated automatons were moving from machine to machine. Their goal was to learn how to use the various machines competently that the Athena Foundation created from the marionette that Locar was inside to construction vehicles. Terry turned to Jung and asked, “So you know how to use every one of these machines?” Jung rolled his eyes, “Of course I do. It’s been quite some time though.” He spotted a nearby marionette that was currently occupied and entered it. The limbs started to go an ethereal blue and Jung wiggled the marionette’s fingers. He said, “See. This way I can be more mobile. Plus it takes less power than hovering all the time.” Jung then left the marionette behind and assumed position back with Terry. Alexandra said, “The marionette will be just one of the devices that we will send down to Earth for you. While we are on the subject, let’s go to the cartography room so you can tell us where we need to deliver the stuff. Before we do that, we need to assign an aidebot for Lady Alaia. Both can be achieved in the same room. Come this way.” She headed out the door on the other side and crossed over a bridge into an adjacent building. |

Alaia smiled at Locar's comment. She, then looked around at the spacious room filled with machines. Wow, she thought, this is all so different. Alaia watched Jung and thought, Cool. She heard her name and something about assigning a aidebot to her. Her ears perked up in interest and she followed them over the bridge to the next building. ooc: I'm sorry, you know I just feel that my posts are kind of lame...:( |

(ooc: It’s okay. Mine aren’t okay either. Our two characters aren’t talking to each other and relatively minor characters are talking right now.) They came upon a small room. It wasn’t that the room was small; it was that the entire room was nearly taken up by the floating holographic globe in the middle. Alexandra said, “This is the cartography room. We use this room to survey this world and others of the Interventers. However, it is only Earth that we have a direct link to because of our past lies on that world. Just tell me where we can deliver to.” Terry wasn’t sure about Alaia’s choice, but he knew where he wanted the equipment delivered to. He stepped up to the machine and tried to figure it out “How does it work?” Alexandra said, “You’re an eager young man. Here’s how it works.” She then went to the console and Terry looked at how she used the machine to zoom and scroll over the globe. “Here is the planet Earth. Just use the controls and when you’ve found the area, just press that green button there to initiate the order.” She stepped back and Terry used the controls to get to his home. It zoomed in from the entire globe to his backyard. He then pressed the button. He couldn’t tell if anything happened though. The Minister said, “Locar has already dawn up the order: One marionette, one of the new power adapters, a crosswise transmitter, and one of the basic power stations. It is your turn Lady Alaia, please select your location.” |

ooc: Yeah, it makes a bit difficult to do, but it works! bic: Alaia looked around as they came to another room. The large floating holograpic globe in the middle was pretty cool. She listened as Alexandra explained and she watched what Terry did and waited for her turn. She stepped forward as Alexandra said it was her turn. Her dress flowed as she walked and she smiled slightly. Alaia used the controls to get to the forest, she knew it would surprise her family but it wasn't near their camp or hunting grounds and so it would be hidden and yet it would be close enough. She pushed the button and smiled. She stepped back and waited. |

(ooc: It’ll probably be like this until they get to back to Earth. If they do, that is.) Terry’s father, King Theobald, mentioned, “After this sordid business tomorrow with the hearing, we will begin reconstruction of the landjump stations so that travel to this world won’t be restricted to our kind. I have already instructed the construction crews to begin the day after tomorrow. Lady, I would grateful if you give my regards to your father and give this to him as a sign that I am sincere.” He took from his finger a ring made of bone and placed it in Alaia’s hand. Carved into it was a strange symbol, different from Icarian letters. Xerox said it meant friend.” Alexandra then said, “We are ready to assign you an aidebot. A sentry rests in this chamber now and waits to be upgraded. You can use this panel to determine how it will look and speak. When you are finished, just call out its name that you are giving it. It will open and greet you.” She gestured to the panel which looked like a the key pad from a phone. |

ooc: Yeah.. bic: Alaia listened to King Theobald speak and nodded. Taking the ring carefully, she studied it carefully for a moment. "Thank you, sir, I will give it to him." She had seen the symbol before, carved into trees, and symbols like it all around the camp of her pack. Though almost no one knew what they meant, expect for a select few who had taught it to Alaia. Alaia nodded at Alexandra's words. She studied the panel and then placed her hands on it, getting to work. How should it look? She decided that since if it went down to earth with her then it should be a forest green. Alaia did some other things to it, and then after about 5 minutes, she called out "Annika" A forest green aidebot came out of the wall and made a chirping sound. Alaia was unsure if aidebots had genders or not. Annika's voice was a medium alto, just perfect for a girl voice. "Hello. I'm here to serve." She watched Alaia. ooc: Do I control Annika? |

(ooc: Sure do, just like I also RP as Jung. BTW, aidbots can have genders. It’s just another element that’s established when they are “born”, like their personalities. I’m going to forward the clock to the next day to get the story moving along. If we keep going, it’s going to be more tour stuff, more eating, etc.) Terry had slept the night in his bed in his old new room. It would take getting used to, but if the Council decided against him, he wouldn’t be sleeping here again. Jung was sleeping in his charger when his eyes lit up, “My Prince, time to… oh, you’re already awake. Then there’s no need for me to trouble you with my caterwauling.” He dislodged from the charger and said, “Today is a busy day today. Go ahead and take a bath while I select your clothes for today.” Terry walked to the bathroom and he didn’t know how work the controls, but was eventually able to turn hot shower water on. Jung didn’t know what was going to happen. He liked Iakona or Terrence as he was known on Earth. If they send him back to Earth forever, I’m going to resign my commission with the Foundation and go too. He hovered next to the haberdasher and reviewed the setting. The clothes the boy wore yesterday would be inappropriate for today as well has his Earth clothes which he already added to the list of selections. If he can stay, I need to ask him to bring more clothes to add. The royal family had their clothing style for sessions at the Council Hall. I hope no one objects to him wearing this, but he still is a Prince. Terry soon came out with a towel -what accounted for a towel here- around his waist. Jung turned around and said, “In you go. I’ve got your clothes ready.” The prince asked, “What do they look like?” The aidebot said, “No time to ask.” The door closed behind Terry and the closet became active. As with yesterday morning, clothing appeared on him, but unlike yesterday, these were very formal. He wore scarlet robes with leather sandals and a feathered necklace hung from his neck. Jung asked, “So what do you think?” Terry replied, “I don’t know. Is this what I have to wear to the Council Hall?” Jung explained, “It is the customary clothes worn by princes when they have to attend. You will see your brother wear the same thing. However, the necklace denotes your place as younger prince. There are a variety of necklaces indicating birth order for princes and princesses, but since it’s just you and Philemon, you wear that. Come on, it’s time for breakfast. We’ve allotted time to eat, but you must not dawdle. Then you and your family are off to the Council Hall for the hearing.” (ooc: I suppose the way you look at it, Icarian clothing has degrees of formality depending on the situation and location. Philemon’s clothes when they first met were field clothes for royalty, yesterday’s was business wear, and today’s would be considered the most formal.) |

ooc: Okey dokey! Yeah, I noticed that. I wasn't quite sure if Alaia needed anything really really fancy, so I just made her dress a bit more fancy in a way. bic: 'Alaia had been given a guest bedroom to sleep in for the night, or however long they were staying. Annika, who was in her charger, dislodged for her charger and floated over to her mistress. "Alaia, it is time to wake up." One of her 'arm's reached out and poked her slightly with a finger. "Wakey, wakey." Alaia moaned. "Hm? Oh, good morning Annika." She stretched, her ears rotated and twitched. Alaia slowly got out of bed. Annika said "Now, scoot to the bathroom while I choose your clothing." Alaia chuckled slightly and nodded before trudging into the bathroom. "Uh, Annika? How do I start the shower?" Annika rolled her eyes, "Turn the first knob up for hot water, and down for cold!" She chuckled softly and continued to make her selection of clothes. She was starting to like her mistress a lot more. Alaia said, "Oh, thanks!" About 10 minutes later, she reappeared a 'towel' around her. Annika, who had been programmed to be motherly, a slight prankster, and funny, told Alaia, "Now get into the clothing room. Go, go, go." Alaia giggled softly and entered it, wondering what her clothes would be today. She waited patiently as her clothes disappeared and new ones appeared. She exited the closet with a long light blue dress, that set off her eyes and hair. It had long sleeves and the dress like the one she wore yesterday almost felt like velvet. It was embroidered beautifully with long ribbons of a darker blue, the neck was slightly low. She reached a hand up to her hair. Two thin braids went from the sides of her head to the back, and were joined by another braid down the middle. "How do I look?" Annika chuckled. "Breathtaking, now we must get you to breakfast. Come, come, come." Alaia followed her out of the door and towards the dining room. Alaia |

When they left Terry’s bedroom, Jung said, “Breakfast is not going to take place in the dining hall that you ate in yesterday. This is more of a little room, for just the family, but Alaia will be joining us there.” The young prince said, “I see.” He then followed Jung silently. Jung would have kept talking, but he understood the boy’s emotional state. This could be the last day he lives here. Even if they do decide for him, would he live here or live on Earth? Besides, what is Earth like anyway? He kept these thoughts to himself so he wouldn’t trouble the youth. Jung led him to the breakfast nook whose windows looked into the garden. It had a more familiar feel rather than the stately dining hall. The utensils, plates, and tablemat, were plain and subdued. His parents and brother were already there. They waited quietly as servants brought food to the table. The breakfast foods were different from yesterday. Gone were the baskets of moogie bread and piyoko eggs. Instead were skewers of meat, piyoko, and what Terry guessed was some type of fish, and carafes of juice. He sat down and they waited for Alaia (ooc: FYI, the meat skewers have meat of “ox”, the same type of animals that pulled the carriage from the day before. Haven’t come up with a name before, but I need to when refer to them.) |

(ooc: Ok, thanks! Sorry I'm absolutely horrid at naming things, so I can't help )bic: Alaia walked into the room, she blushed slightly, "Oh, I'm sorry I'm late!" She smiled nervously. Her long dress felt strange on her now. She quickly sat down in the empty chair, that today was beside Terry's mother. Annika settled herself ,a little away from the table, behind her mistress. Alaia looked silently around the table. She suddenly remembered about the ruins, but kept her face blank. Her tail and ears twitched nervously. |

The king and queen looked at her silently and nodded. They continued to eat in solemnity for several minutes until Queen Celeste spoke. She said, “Lady, I’ve asked three of my attendants to escort you to the Midori colony. It is left just the way that they left it when that had to flee. They will arrive shortly after we need to leave for…” She looked at Terry, then back at Alaia and continued, “…personal business. I need not explain further.” Yea, business all about me. Terry mused. He tried to appear stoic and emotionally strong for what lay ahead. Philemon and his father appeared the same way. Theobald was pleased, in a manner of speaking. Although only knowing his son for a brief time, he was proud that his younger son was trying to be brave in the face of adversity. If I could only spare my son such a travesty. He liked to eat skewers of pluxni meat, but under the current circumstances, he found it to be bland and tasteless. All too soon, breakfast was finished. Soon the paths of Alaia and Terry would divert, but lead to the same destination, destiny. |

Alaia was nervous as she slowly started to eat silently. She nodded. "Thank you." She glanced at Terry and then sighed slightly. As soon as breakfast started it stopped. She glanced at Terry again. She couldn't wait to get to the Midori ruins and she hoped that Terry's trial went well. |

They left the breakfast nook and headed to the atrium where Philemon had greeted them yesterday. Theobald said, “Here we part. Alaia, try not to think about the difficulties that we confront today. Visit the colony and learn all you can. I’ve instructed my wife’s three attendants to meet you here. Goodbye, lady. I hope we meet again under better circumstances.” He turned around and the royal family headed down the corridor to a waiting carriage. It was the same one from yesterday and again drawn by two pluxni. Terry’s parents got in first and then Philemon, Terry last. Once they and their aidebots were secured inside, Theobald signaled the driver, “Take us out.” The carriage started to move and headed down the path to take them out of the palace grounds. Past the moat, past the guardhouse they went. Once they left the castle’s outer walls, crowds were gathered on either side. To Terry, some of them appeared to be reporters despite not being familiar with Icarian life. They wore mouthpieces which they talked into and they had aidebots which tracked the carriage’s movement. Cicero, the aidebot, broke the silence and said, “Sorry to disturb you sire, but I’m trying to sort through the comm traffic. It’s difficult trying to connect to the High Council’s frequency at this time. It hasn’t been this tied up in years, not since… Anyhow, it is taking a while so please be patient. Ah, here we go.” There was a brief pause. Then there was a different voice, “Eminence, the great hall is ready for the meeting. Since this is an emergency meeting, delays are inevitable. However, all members are expected to be in attendance. We await your arrival.” Cicero then used his own voice and explained to Terry, “That was the Chancellor’s chief of staff. One of his tasks is to notify members of meetings.” All Terry could do was nod and remain calm. (ooc: In case you’re curious as to what Cicero what going to say, he was referring to the war’s aftermath.) |

(ooc: Ah, ok! )bic: Alaia followed the family to the atrium, slowly. She stopped and nodded, and said softly, "Good luck." to Terry. Then she turned, and walked away, Annika leading to the ruins. Alaia thought about Terry's trial for a moment, before pushing it away. She couldn't think about that. No, she should be thinking about the ruins, what she may find there, that could help. She walked slowly behind Annika, each step ridden with excitement. Annika said "We're almost there." Alaia replied, "Good!" Her tail wagged back and forth, beneath her dress. Her ears rotated, picking up all the sounds of Icarians. This place was so strange to her, and yet, she felt safe here, like people listened and cared. How she wished it was like that with her family back home in the forest. After a while, they came to the ruins. Alaia stopped breathing for a moment, "They're amazing.." She smiled. Annika looked around for the three attendants. "Hm...Now, where have they gone?" |
