Well, here's a quick list of things to do to get started on Obdurate after deciding to become a member. Most of these are just suggestions; there is no right or wrong sequence. 1) Register (FOR FREE!) to make an account. This will give you greater access to the board and help get you acquainted. Having an account also makes you an official member, so your posts will start tallying up. 2) Introduce yourself! It's really hard for the current members to get to know the new members if they don't introduce themselves. This is the first step to finding people with similar interests. 3) You can either just hang around the board or get started. Most people hang around the board for a bit, looking over current topics to find RP partners they might like to have. If that seems like too much research for you, then go ahead and post your idea(s) in the Casting Call forum. There are also plenty of ideas up for grabs, so if you can't come up with one, that's just fine! Go check out someone else's. If there's one you like (or more than one - there's no limit to the number of RPs you can participate in), don't be afraid to ask the person about joining. 4) If you don't feel comfortable RPing, or just don't want to, jump into other activities. Obdurate is, above all, a community, and communities are diverse. Participate in a game or a silly poll; upload some of your artistic, musical, or written pieces; or just stalk the chatbox at the bottom of the page. Really, it doesn't matter. 5) And, finally, give some stinking input. Be it complaints, suggestions, or just answering a poll about the future skin, talk to us. We're always striving to make things better, easier, and more convenient, but we're not mind readers. Whether you've been here two years or two hours, it doesn't matter - if you're a member, you're a member, and we want your opinions. So, that's about it. Hope this was helpful! And, again, these aren't like The Five Commandments of joining Obdurate. Just suggestions to help integrate to the community.
