His vision groggily and slowly came back into focus. The first thing that Seth Mavar thought of when he beheld the blurry image was of the aurora borealis because of the shimmering lights. Mavar was a teenage gorilla and a very confused one at that. He rubbed his nauseated sloped forehead and he sat up. His eyes became focused at last and he found himself on a steel bench. The Northern Lights was actually two large aquarium tanks that filled the entire wall on his left and right. Tropical fish meander aimlessly in their watery domain. How did I get here? He did not know. The last memory that he owned was looking at a mirror in the museum at night. His father was a policeman and was helping to supplement the security. On display was the Mirror of Crosstime. There were many myths about this wondrous device. It could show possible futures and alternate realities. A bunch of rubbish. Seth believed the stories to be nothing more than food for the gullible and the demented. He remembered looking at the mirror before it closed to the public for the day. There was no one in the room and yet he felt himself being grabbed from behind and a silent unknown voice saying, "For your own good." Seth stood up and looked around. His ears faintly heard music and it took awhile to recognize it as it echoed. It was a slow instrumental version of Duran Duran's "Planet Earth". He did not know where the music was coming from, but he knew that he could not remain in this room. Spying a marble staircase on the opposite side of the room, he climbed upward.
