What do you guys think? We are going to make a lot of compromises with this, but we are also going to ensure that our community will be safer as the forum administration and Delegacy would be handed off to neutral party. I took ideas out of all the previous proposals by both sides and tried to come up with something neutral. Reconciliation Proclamation An effort to bring everyone together. This proclamation will end all conflicts between all groups representing Osiris, namely those of The Almighty Jesus Whale and Cormac Stark. In order to do that, the proclamation declares: 1. Amnesty will be given to Everyone involved in the April 2016 Osiris Conflict. 2. All banned nations during the April 2016 Osiris Conflict will be allowed to return to Osiris. 3. The Osiris off-site community will be reunited at the following Osiris forum: http://w11.zetaboards.com/OFO/index/ 4. The forum administration team will appoint a new root administrator collectively. 5. Osiris will be restructured to reflect a Constitutional Monarchy, in which the Pharaoh acts as Head of State, while the Grand Vizier acts as Head of Government. The Pharaoh will be required to establish a line of succession consisting of no less than two individuals with the approval of a simple majority confirmation vote by the Deshret. 6. Severisen/Zaolat/Jakker/[Insert name of neutral individual] will be declared as the First Pharaoh of Osiris, and a transition will occur to ensure their ascendency to the seat of in-game Delegate as soon as possible. 7. A Constitutional Convention will be held at the soonest time possible after everyone is transitioned back into the forums to discuss the State Code and to reflect its new system of governance. 8. After the Constitutional Convention, the region will elect a new Head of Government known as the Grand Vizier. The Election will be administer by four election commissioners that will be collectively decided at the Convention. Compromise Tally TGO - Everyone goes back to the old forum, government restructuring is approved, amnesty is given to all involved. OFO - The root administrator account is in new hands, the pharaoh will be a neutral party, all expelled members get to return. Both sides: Constitutional Convention will allow us to talk things out through dialogue, directly improve our laws, and seriously tackle areas that need improvement in our community. |

It's not a compromise, it's a near-total surrender. If that's the only way to end this, it's better than nothing, I suppose. I can see myself agreeing with it, even the unnecessary changes in the system of governance. But if everyone is given amnesty, I will not be a part of the "new Osiris". That's just too much to ask.

First of all, Rogamark, I am not happy about my proposal either. Would I have wished for it to be different? Definitely. Would I have wanted Jesus Whale to be Delegate? Absolutely. I was the second individual banjected from Osiris, and that was because I was among the first people to publicly speak out against Cormac and his gang and their crime against JW. But we have to be realistic here. It is extremely unlikely that we will be able to liberate Osiris with military force. Our region does not have that international influence. It would take a huge, massive effort, and I can't think of enough regions that would be able to supply us with the help necessary. So where do we go from here? Do we stay here in our exiled off-site forum? It is possible that we can do that. It is an option. We can keep opposing Cormac and his group. But when will this end? Is it going to make a difference? Possibly. This coup came out nowhere, and for all we know it might end of nowhere if we wait. So we have to look at our options and consider everything. To me, I think it is extremely unlikely that we can overthrow Cormac and restore JW to the Delegacy. So we must settle for something that would allow us to restore our region, but at the same time, when the region is restored all sides MUST be equal. How do we achieve this? By letting the Delegacy and the forum administration be in neutral hands. These are two provisions that we must work to accomplish at all costs, if we are to reach a compromise. The latter is something that from my conversation with the TGO, I think we can easily reach agreement on. The former is where we will need to work on through more dialogue with the TGO. I believe that we can influence them to give the position to a neutral party. I was given that impression from recent talks with them, at least. If we are ever to reach a compromise with the TGO, it MUST give us equal standing as their members. I personally will not support anything that will tip the scales to their side. I want us to go into the Constitutional Convention knowing that the forums are secure, the in-game Delegacy is secure, and that we have equal footing going in. Edited by Tomb, Apr 25 2016, 06:02 PM.

Update: I talked to Zaolat, and he has stated that he would be willing to take up the in-game Delegate in a potential compromise agreement. He is willing to put the all the time and effort into it, if it is our last hope. We have just found a neutral party who suits everyone's interests in holding the Delegacy. |

Update 2: Cormac rejected Zaolat as a potential candidate. Originally, he said he would be fine with Zaolat, but cited his activity as the reason against him. When I talked to Zaolat and convinced him to accept the position with the promises of increased activity, and then went on to inform Cormac about it, Cormac reject the proposal. He also went ahead and rejected Sev as a potential Pharaoh saying that it'd take "months" to transition him. Basically, he just narrowed down the field to himself. With that in mind, there is no room left for compromise. I DO NOT recommend that we give in to a demand such as that. A key point in my proposal was equality for both sides. Cormac, does not appear to have that as a priority as apparent of his rejection of Zaolat. |

I can confirm, this is exactly what Cormac said to me yesterday. You're right with what you said, of course, this is probably unavoidable. But not Cormac. I concur with your recommendation. If he's serious about a "compromise" candidate, it quite obviously can't be any of the coupers (Not that I've supported Zao, his creative ideas of the duties of a Guardian make him... look very much unqualified for this office in my eyes) but I'd be fine with Sev). I do apologize if I sound less than rational about this at times. But I was convinced Cormac was the right candidate for the Pharaohship, and supporting him in the election... I've never regretted anything so much in ten years of NS. I've been lied to and tricked and betrayed more than once, and I've always managed to sort of not take it personally, and remind myself it's just a game, but this time I can't. All those years, and now finally someone managed to spoil it for me. I'd quit NS for good, but unfortunately I'm too stubborn to just pack up. |
