Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

cam -- what do you think of comp of current NBA players of Paul Millsap for Swanigan? I think Swanigan will be a little bit better pro than Millsap, but Millsap is awfully good. I will say that there have been very few players that continued to get better every year into their 30s like Millsap has....seems like he keeps adding dimensions to his game.

I like that comp for sure. Both are below the rim PFs who aren't super tall but are productive and rebound. I don't know if Swanigan will ever be a 17/9 guy and make 3 All Star teams like Millsap, but I think he will be able to stick around for awhile. Maybe a Carl Landry type career.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

"I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

I would say his floor would be Carl Landry. I'm really high on him.

The one thing I like about Swanigan is the dude just plays hard. Even in OT yesterday when the game was out of reach, he was crashing the boards like the game was on the line.

You can't teach that as a coach; it's an internal drive that is quite rare. I honestly like watching him play because of that. He reminds me a bit of Chris Kramer, except he's much bigger and talented. He never settles. It's a shame for B1G opponents that he wasn't projected higher in the draft :)
So you had a man-crush on Kramer--who knew? :P
Happy New Year, Boat!

I hate to compare him to a Dukie, but as far as his size, athletic ability, and his inside game the guy I think of when I see him play is Elton Brand. Brand never stepped outside like Swanigan, but I think the other parts of their game ate very comparable.
