Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,

FYI -- I'll be getting to see Stefanovic (Crown Point HS, signed to Purdue next year) play on Wednesday. Will report back what I see. Last year when I saw him play I really liked his game -- liked his game better overall than team mate Grant Gelon's.

Seems a lot like Mathias. Probably got the scholarship for being a 6'4ish shooter but is more of a player than just a shooter. Fits into what Purdue is doing now with post feeding and spreading the floor.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

From when I've seen him, I don't think he's a true 6'4". He is a much better athlete than I think a lot of scouts give him credit for.

Wish I had more to report on him than what I saw tonight.....his team was up 24-4 at the end of the first quarter and won 66-36 which limited his minutes. He played 15 minutes, was 4-5 from the field (hit both open threes he got and made 2 of 3 shots close in), 5-6 from the free throw line. Think he had one or two assists. The shots at the rim he got were against kids that size wise couldn't really match up. Basically, couldn't tell you that much based on that little time and level of competition. More could be told in the next couple of games he plays in the sectional, but don't know if I'll be back for them or not.

Looked to be about 6'3" but has a baby face and big feet, so could be a kid who is still growing. Looked to have very good court vision and both his stroke looked very good on both his deep shots and in warm ups. Was not in love with his speed. Overall, I think the best comparison would be Cline. Haven't seen enough games from him to know if his shot is as good, but I can tell you that he could end up as Crown Point's all time leading scorer (Spike Albrecht and Gelon Grant also played at Crown Point, although I think their all-time leading scorer is actually a player who is their current principal whom went to college for football, not basketball).

As I mentioned above, from what I saw I'd put him more in the Cline than Mathias category. He has kind of a strange body......not really defined but certainly not scrawny. Looks like he does have the ability to put some muscle on.

I'll take a Ryan Cline in every class for sure. Stefanovic was really just a luxury get after Smotherman was dismissed. If Purdue doesn't get the elite type players that other schools get, I'd rather them add as much skill as possible than try to take fliers on athletes with no skill or basketball IQ.

You certainly don't need a team of elite players. You won't win with 12 Stefanovics, but that's not the goal.

As long as he's more Cline than Weatherford, he'll be a positive.

Completely forgot about Weatherford. Wonder where he is. That was a massive overreaction by Painter in recruiting. I think that was almost strictly a culture/locker room signing because of where things were in those down years.

Took me quite a bit a bit of googling before I was able to track him down. He's at Midland Junior College in Texas, where he's averaged 6 1/2 points per game for a 13-16 JC team.

Had thought about going to see Crown Point again tonight but think I'm going to see Get Out instead....so no further report on Stefanovic. CP plays Chesterton tonight and if they win (they beat Chesterton earlier in the season 59-40....Chesterton isn't bad -- they are 16-8 -- but they aren't on CP's level) they would play the winner of Michigan City and Merrillville in the sectional championship (I think it will be Michigan City, but should be a good game...MC beat CP earlier in the year).

Stefanovic is close to becoming CP's career leading scorer....could happen before the sectional is over.

Stefanovic must have put on quite a show tonight.....29 points including 9 straight points with the game in the balance as CP beat Chesterton 78-66.

Poor shooting night as CP falls to Merrillville in sectional championship. Stefanovic had 21 points with 13 of those coming from the free throw line. He was 4 of 17 from the field and 0 of 10 from three.
