Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I am having trouble breathing. Glad Mich started missing shots. Both teams shooting 75% was bad for the longevity my fingernails

Another easy W. Couldn’t make it until about the 5 minute mark because of my own basketball league.

I’m just happy to be done with Michigan. They are a tough matchup.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

They obviously have been the toughest matchup for Purdue so far (even if they weren't able to ultimately get a "W" either time).

I do have one question, as I didn't see the game.....I know that in the first game that Belein played Livers more than Duncan Robinson....and in this game, he played Livers 32 minutes, which is a season high (and it looks like he was pretty ineffective). Is there a reason why he did that? I know that Michigan didn't necessarily need Robinson's shooting tonight (although you can never have too many shooters), but I don't think Livers really offers much. Was Livers guarding Vince Edwards tonight? If so, it's no surprise that Edwards would have went off tonight. No way can Livers guard him.

Anyway, looks like Penn State is giving Ohio State a good game tonight....could be alone in first possibly.

I only go to watch a few minutes. I’m probably going to watch the replay before bed.

Livers is prolly the better defender and played pretty well in the first meeting. Not sure what he’s been doing outside of jay game but I like him as a player and his future. Robinson has been struggling shooting but he’s still someone you’d have to worry about regardless.

Good thing you DVR'd the game DC. It was like a heavyweight fight. MAAR was unreal. Every time we started to pull away they would punch back. Trading baskets like crazy......and it wasn't like our D was terrible. There were some breakdowns but they made tough shots with a hand in the face. We all know how bad the matchup is for us and that certainly contributed to some of it.
Didn't like us switching on X, felt like we could have gone under the pick and let him shoot the 3. Carsen had some old demons reappear, two turnovers near the end........he was attacking when we needed to work for a good shot. Also took some chances on D that led to some scores.
Great game, one of the best I've seen in college basketball in awhile.

BTW, catchy thread title Eel.

I probably like Robinson’s game more than you do and don’t think as much of Livers(at this point in his career) as you do. I don’t really agree that Livers is a better defender— I really do like Robinson’s length and also think that’s what makes him an offensive threat — his ability to shoot over defenders. I just found it strange that Livers played a career high 32minutes tonight and really put up a non-existent stat line.

I'm only at halftime of the game, but they basically used him as a floor spacer. The other 4 guys dominated the ball for Michigan, so he wasn't going to have huge stats.

On defense, he started most possessions on Edwards, but they switched a lot of stuff off the ball. At least in the first half, he wasn't just getting manned up on Vince and getting abused. And Robinson was responsible for 8 quick Purdue points when he was in the first half.

Yeah, I don't think the Livers/Robinson thing really mattered. Vince got 30, but a lot of it was against other defenders after switches. Livers was not a liability. And he's basically the same size as Robinson.

It was weird watching a game in which both teams scored 90+ points and I didn't feel like the defense was terrible. There were breakdowns of course, but man, both teams just executed amazingly well and Abdul-Rahmin was out of his mind. Like I said earlier, I am just happy to be done with Michigan. They are pretty good and just matchup well vs Purdue.

One of the most exciting games I've ever watched. I started one hour behind and never caught up, as I didn't want to skip through any of the action. On D it was a bit disappointing they got to the rack so many times, but we took their best shot and foul shooting was the difference at the end.

The Ohio State Penn State ending was nuts. Penn State made mistakes down the stretch, Bates Dior made a tough shot at 6 seconds left and then Penn Stste banks a 30 footer in at the buzzer to win. Penn State controlled that game all the way but I think if it had went OT Penn State loses.

So who stands in the way of setting our all-time winning streak record? Some unnamed football school in southern Indiana. :D

I resent that. We are a soccer and baseball school.

Glad to see UNC and Duke go down today. We don't need either of them sliding in and laying claim to our #1 Midwest seed.
