Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

a game that isn't completely fake. if you've played either MM08 or CH2k8, they both feature gameplay that is completely off from the real college game; and the environment on 2k8 is weak, while the commentary on MM08 is awful. It's basically been the same game engine on both for years. Anywho, it hurts me to say, but I have to use the NBA counterparts for my basketball fix.

I have never been too impressed with most basketball games anyways. I feel the video game industry has gotten football down and even baseball at times, a lot better than basketball. 2k sports has done a decent job with their basketball game recently, but its got a ways to go.

And there will be no more 2k College Basketball. EA only, so back to crappy quality like Madden the first few years of their NFL buyout. Except this time, there isn't enough demand for a quality college basketball game as there was for NFL football so it will more than likely never get better like this years Madden did.

yep, Madden is a very solid video game; but as you said, all the time, money, and effort from EA Sports goes into it. MM09 is destined to be the same game engine/graphics/and dick vitale :banghead: . for their defense though, it would be really hard to make a basketball game (fans sit closer, no helmets, limited uniform, more free-range motion.) The fans look crappy in madden up close, but they get away with it because of how NFL stadiums are.

I just feel competition would make things go quicker. I hope they get it right because college sports atmosphere on a video game is great. I played NCAA football every year a thousand times more than Madden. The whole thing, with recruiting, to fight songs, the stadiums, is just so much better.

yeah, the college football game really does a great job of incorporating atmosphere and the school fight song. Also, the chants in CH2k8 are laughable. I was playing with IU, got Gordon 30 points, and the fans chanted "He's a Fresh-man". Terrible.

How is CH2k8? Because for whatever reason, Gordon can't make shit in March Madness 08 outside of a layup.

well, Gordon is insane from beyond the arc on CH, and they have his dunking style down perfect (dumb luck?). Buttttt, nobody can make a layup in CH, not even DJ. Very frustrating. Also, nearly every possession a pass gets deflected/stolen. The deal breaker for me on the two was the fact 2k8 lets you download shared rosters (created by other users) with player names. It's great.
