Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

we missed out on the three that were deciding today.

3 star Dual threat QB - Ohrian Johnson, a juice williams type player, down to OSU USF and IU, IU only place that wants him at QB, but he chose OSU

M. Peak (i think) - RB, dont really know much except he picked CIN over us

and lastly Marcus Rucker - short, fast WR, down to us and Memphis, and chose memphis.

we did well, 19 recruits, with 5 3-stars. The biggest being Darius Willis, HB out of Warren Central. Will compete with mccray, thigpen, and Payton for PT, but im sure he will get plenty. Kyle Kozak, DE, Cortez smith, CB, should start opposite of whoever wins out of our current CB's, Shane Covington, RB, another fight for PT, probly redshirt. And finaly, tyler adetona, 6-1 WR, should get significant time, good hands, great speed.

The only ones who IMO will get PT are Kozak, Smith, Willis, and Adetona....

Not to nitpick, but Willis is from Franklin Central, not Warren. He is a good player, has the size and speed of a Big Ten back.

This class doesn't really improve the team, its more keeping the status quo, without a Hardy looking player. The schedule will give the Hoosiers a chance at a bowl game, but this team won't be as good this year as it was last, and the recruiting hasn't gotten any better.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

yeah my bad on the warren central...

but i really do disagree, i think this class helps a lot.
it is definately an athletic class, which is what we needed. I think it provides good depth at key spots, and we helped out our O-line. I would have loved to have gotten johnson, but he would have red-shirted or played WR or saftey...

but i think this is a step in the right direction, and back to back bowl appearances (hopefully) will really help in recruiting for next year...

the big one next year is Morgan Newton, out of Carmel (my indiana Home)

if you cant tell, im kind of into IU football

Haha, thats great you are into IU football, the fans really need to get behind it to get the ball rolling. And sorry to hear about being from Carmel....... haha, I kid, I'm a southsider so I always like to get a shot or two in.

The only reason I don't think this class does a whole lot is because its not any different than past classes. A few nice looking players, but a bunch of other MAC-sized and talent-level players. IU has done a good job of developing certain players, which is the name of the game for schools like us in a state like Indiana surrounded by OSU, UM, ND, and others. To really get to the next step, the program needs to have Darius Willis-like players all over the field.

I think I saw on ESPN that we were 10th in the Big Ten in recruiting (not that it matters, but maybe we get a ribbon or something for being in the top ten).

Also, I could see this team improving a little next year. We really only lost Porter and Hardy so if the rest of the team can improve, we should at least maintain our current level of competitiveness (or lack thereof). Needless to say, I don't see us competing for big recruits as long as we have Bill Lynch here.

i think rivals is bullshit anyways....

i mean Hardy, Porter, and Lewis all were way under the radar.

Hardy, 2 stars, Lewis, 2 (i think) and Porter...NONE!!!!

I mean Porter is a top 2 round draft choice, and i have seen two interveiws, one with the number 28 prospect in the nation, and one with the coach of oregon, who both said IU is one of the best player development schools in the country. Thats what attracts people.

i tell you this, i have a good feeling...the new facilities, a coach who will stick around, and snagging the top state recruit (Newton). It would mean wonders to this program. We need to get top instate recruits. it will help a ton, along with consecutive bowl appearances....

its a new day in IU fball

Love the enthusiasm, but I just don't think Bill Lynch is the guy. I wish we didn't sign him for 4 years and I hope he doesn't stick around all 4. Either that or I hope he proves me wrong.

i really think we signed him for 4 years so we could get recruits..

hes a nice guy, and players want that security of knowing they will have the same guy for the time we are there.
