Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Neither have I.
Think its bullshit? <_<

I don't think it really matters. If they want out, we'll let them out either way.

Who knows, its kind of odd, but I think they were going to have to release them either way. Almost any coaching change warrants that, and it'd be a bad PR move if they didn't. Who ever negotiated that for those kids needs to get into law or something because that was a pretty smart move on their part.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

They both signed their letters of intent a couple weeks AFTER the initial news of the violations broke. Probably the reason Ebanks' LOI came in the day after...

I believe Oden and Conely both also had something in their LOI's that said they could back out if OSU was put on further probation...

If Dakich does a great job with the rest of the season, or we acquire a stud coach, recruiting won't be a problem!

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

Bruce Pearl lived in Evansville Indiana for a number of years. I knew him personally at USI when he coached the Screaming Eagles.
If given the chance and the right circumstances, I can tell you he said he would love to come back to Indiana for good and settle his roots so to speak.
Take it for what its worth.
IU was mentioned several times when he was at USI......... B)

How 'personally' did you know Pearl? I've ran into him a few times while he was at USI, but I definitely wouldn't say I know him. There's one thing I'm fairly positive about it, and that's that he wouldn't come to Indiana unless we shell out some huge $$$. Also, I don't know why everyone thinks he has these huge ties to Indiana. He coached at USI... that's it. He grew-up in Boston and went to Boston College, so I really doubt he cared that much about Indiana other than that was the biggest job in the state he was coaching when he said those things.

His AAU coach over on Peegs saying he will reopen his recruitment later this week...

I also read that Elston (2009 so no LOI) has contacted Purdue about reopening his commitment. However, Painter has stated he won't pursue him. I believe he only had offers from those two, and unless he's really turned off by IU's next coach, will prolly stick with IU.

That's bullshit. Post your source or shut up.

Listen fuckface, I read this in the "boiling over" section of rivals.com, and my subscription could be canceled for what i just wrote. I know you think you're "mr know-it-all" on this board, but I read it. It may or may not be true, as i said "i read it somewhere"

Hate to say I told you so........ my guess is Holloway will be gone as well.

Then don't tell us so. I'm looking for input on the IU situation from other IU fans and thats about it. I'm sick of the smugness from you Makers recently.

Great, thanks for those wise words. I know the truth now, but I don't give a shit that a fan of our rival wants to rub it in our face.

I feel ya mongo. I think this is a place where if you are a Purdue fan, you can give some input, but making fun of IU and bashing them at every chance is just stupid. I go back and forth with UB, but thats because its all in fun and a joke (at least I hope thats what people see it as). If they are talking about their coaching candidates, let them be. Give some input, but don't lace it with hate and bashings. I root just as hard against IU as anybody, but be respectful of most of the people on here, they are good fans and nice guys.

I have no problem with ya'll posting here, I enjoy you Boilers and your input, especially posters like you man. But kicking us while we're down, I think everyone here (almost) is too classy for it. Fun trash talk is just that: fun. But its getting a little obnoxious around here, and I've had a really short fuse recently due to this Sampson situation and bullshit in my personal life. Anyway like I said I have no problem with you.

I know man, I'm just trying to bring some common sense to the matter. I feel like most of the people don't mind what I say, its usually at least respectful and well thought out. I've stayed away from my opinions on Sampson and that situation for the most part just because of the sensitive nature of the situation.

I'm sure IU basketball will get out of this, it has great tradition and fans like you that care. I also hope things in your personal life get straightened out, and hope this place can be somewhere to escape and have some fun talking about something that you enjoy.

Actually I was curious, did Painter pursue him at all before he made a commitment, and why do you think Painter wouldn't be interested in him now? I don't know about the 2009 class but I think at least for next year we still have a few open schollies. Just like to hear your opinion on that.

cant say I feel sorry whatsoever for Indiana University right now...the students demanded that we lose recruits and destroy our program further for rooting for Sampson to cheat..this is part of the punishment all of us have to face for having treacherous fans...should have listened to the Alums...

Hmm I thought it was some 'selected Trustees' and Herbert that made the decision to hire Sampson?

Fallen do you think Greenspan should resign as well?
