Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

His AAU coach over on Peegs saying he will reopen his recruitment later this week...

I also read that Elston (2009 so no LOI) has contacted Purdue about reopening his commitment. However, Painter has stated he won't pursue him. I believe he only had offers from those two, and unless he's really turned off by IU's next coach, will prolly stick with IU.

That's bullshit. Post your source or shut up.

Listen fuckface, I read this in the "boiling over" section of rivals.com, and my subscription could be canceled for what i just wrote. I know you think you're "mr know-it-all" on this board, but I read it. It may or may not be true, as i said "i read it somewhere"

Actually I was curious, did Painter pursue him at all before he made a commitment, and why do you think Painter wouldn't be interested in him now? I don't know about the 2009 class but I think at least for next year we still have a few open schollies. Just like to hear your opinion on that.

Painter offered him, Elston choose Iu, Painter moved on. We already have Robinson, Barlow and Byrd, with one, two max schollies left. Might as well go for Van Treese or Dixon, instead of a a guy who choose IU over us in the first place.

cant say I feel sorry whatsoever for Indiana University right now...the students demanded that we lose recruits and destroy our program further for rooting for Sampson to cheat..this is part of the punishment all of us have to face for having treacherous fans...should have listened to the Alums...

Hmm I thought it was some 'selected Trustees' and Herbert that made the decision to hire Sampson?

Fallen do you think Greenspan should resign as well?

http://sports.espn.go.com/espn/columns/sto...30&sportCat=ncb

absolutely...we had several top choices to pick from and inexplicably went for Sampson (actually its not inexplicable...he was chosen because everyone knew he would cheat and destroy the legacy that coaches like bob knight and branch mccracken left behind, which would thrill students) Although my sources tell me that President Herbert pressured Greenspan into hiring Sampson, that does not make it right. This is one of, if not THE biggest embarassments in school history. i might get laughed at for this, but I think now is the time for IU to apologize to Bobby and bring him in as athletic director, as much as that would enrage the students. I think our next coach defenitely needs a General stamp of approval.

When has Knight ever proven worthy of being an athletic director? You do know that there is more to being the AD then choosing a basketball coach? He would have to make decisions on all sports, balance spending, and countless other jobs that he has never done in his life.

He is a great coach, probably the best that ever lived, but everything he touches does not turn to gold. I really think that you have an unhealthy obsession with the man.

We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

Robinson fills a similar role already, does he not? Robinson also helps with the recruitment of Van Treese. Dixon would also be huge although just at a glance seems more of a long shot.

Hey did you notice DJ Byrd also plays on the same AAU team as Van Treese?

Don't plan on Van Treese playing in the state of Indiana. He is showing a lot of interest to other schools that are tough to say no to. I don't think he really fits into our system anyways, and with Robinson already in the fold, and some other big men who are more mobile and athletic, I don't think it really matters. I wouldn't mind seeing Elston at Purdue if everything at IU fans apart and he publicly de-commits and talks to IU about it. Elston is also a teammate of Byrd and Barlow and in an interview, Elston talked about all three going to the same school. I've heard Purdue may not re-recruit Elston, but that may have to do with him being committed and the fire storm that would create.

I did consider that, I don't think Painter is the type of coach to pull an Eric Gordon. Can we call it that? As long as Elston is still committed, I don't think he would actively recruit him.

He won't, but word is that the Elstons have already tried to contact Painter and Purdue. There has also been word that Painter won't recruit Elston regardless of him opening his recruitment back up anyways. I personally don't care, he would be nice to have, but we have plenty of talented guys already committed and in the running for others. I will get excited about them when they say they want to play for Purdue.

This entire thing reeks of Miles Brand. This is the domino effect of Miles Brand's legacy. He fired Bobby, had a hand in hiring Donkey, then placed Herbert as president, Herbert influcences Greespan into hiring a cheater. Then to top it all off, Brand is the head of the NCAA, which holds our program in the balance and all of a sudden declared we have 5 major violations, but can't rule on it until June. By then all of our players would have defected, recruits gone, and a coach will not come to IU unless they know there isn't any postseason ban. THE DOMINO THEORY OF MILES BRAND.

Yes, I am clearly insane, but only temporary until we get this thing put behind us for good. Far fetched, maybe! But I bet he never liked us IU fans after the Bobby Knight incident and could be holding a grudge towards that chant of "Miles Brand must go". Probably hears it in his sleep. :banghead:
