Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I see theres a firestorm about him possibly coming to IU...mark my words...If IU got pearl from UT...it may be as an important a hire as when Knight was hired in the early 70's...i strongly believe, and typically im never (okay, im TRULY never) wrong, but Pearl would be dynamite at IU. You could count on a banner within 5 years if Pearl was here.

Didn't he just sign a long extension at Tennessee? His son is a redshirt freshman there. I really don't know why so many IU fans think he's actually a viable possibility. It's not a 0% chance, but it's pretty low.

I was listening to ESPN radio at work tonight after the game and they had a full segment on Pearl and the open IU job. All of the guys were saying that Pearl SHOULD take the IU job if offered. They argued that despite where UT sits right now, that IU would be the better job for him long-term. They said they believed he WOULD consider the job, but that IU would have to break the bank for him....(which I would fully support.)

That said, he's got it pretty nice at Tennessee right now. I personally don't think I would leave if I were in his position.

No father is going to leave their son, at least a half decent one. And the kid already red shirted, so he would lose another year and only have 3 left of eligibility if he transfered to IU with Pearl. That would suck.

Bruce Pearl lived in Evansville Indiana for a number of years. I knew him personally at USI when he coached the Screaming Eagles.
If given the chance and the right circumstances, I can tell you he said he would love to come back to Indiana for good and settle his roots so to speak.
Take it for what its worth.
IU was mentioned several times when he was at USI.........

Cuban unofficially made a statement he would make a monetary donation personally to get Pearl if needed.

Doesn't seem that Cuban has or ever will donate to IU. He HATES the NCAA.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

"I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel
