Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Digger is an absolute tool. I think what DJ did was wrong, but what place does he have to call him out like that, there were also 5 others that did it. He is a washed coach who is just a pussy. You should hear him when the subject of Purdue comes up, he squirms and backpedals like Deion Sanders. I want Bilas to reach over and just knock the shit out of him one day.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

Digger and RMK are buds, I can almost "hear" Bobby talking through Phelps.

Fuck him, he sucked as a coach too.

Hey, DJ has been through a lot. This will be his third head coach at IU, and he's had to overcome injuries. I was a little mad to see that he was one of the players who didn't show up for that practice. But he did get on that bus, and he is still playing

Yeah, I bet if them two were in the same room, you would have surgically remove RMK's nut sack from Digger's chin. God I hate that bastard.

He is up there with Bill Simmons, Terry Hutchens, Jim Rome, and Todd Leary as my least respected people who get paid to report or talk about sports. Odd that two of the 5 are IU people..........

(Hell, I didn't even talk about Mike Pegram and Inside Indiana, but thats something I reserve for when I'm drunk)

Digger is an asshole right now and not even taking into consideration the personal end of this entire fiasco.

Earth to Digger: players are people too!

You guys also notice that Digger ALWAYS picks the home team where ever College Gameday is? <_< Jay and Hubert both picked Tennessee to win last weekend, but Phelps went with Memphis because he didn't want the fans to boo him. He needs to grow some balls.

I mean, that game was practically a coin flip....

But yeah, he's really full of himself.

Earth to Digger: players are people too!

I understand both sides really. In no way should Digger, a person so far removed from the situation, be making bold statements like that about a kid on national TV. That is just low and ridiculously stupid.

His point about missing a practice and facing the rules has some validity. I know this was a different situation than when the rules were put in place, but 6 other guys got through it enough to make it to practice. It was a tough situation, Dakich has to play the players because he doesn't, he loses them all for the season, but at some time, somebody is going to have to take the program back and get it together. Giving those players that kind of power, even though it was well-intentioned, is a recipe for disaster. See the Mike Davis hiring.

...who are some guys that you do like?

Rick Reilly, Greg Easterbrook (writes TMQ on ESPN.com), Jay Bilas, Kirk Herbstreit, Greg Anthony, Bob Costas. There are plenty that I respect, but there are so many that are out there just to get recognized and make outrageous comments and predictions to say "I was right". Blind homerism is a big minus also.

Others that get on my nerves are Cliz (Purdue play by play guy), Ron Santo, John Madden, Boomer Esiason (sp), Phil Simms.

As you have noticed, I'm very opinionated when it comes from sports. I like the people that are well spoken and don't just throw out heavily opinionated things because they have an axe to grind or what to be the star. Report the sports, give your expertise, and stay out of the way of the actual story.

Reilly writes for ESPN the Magazine now I believe. I only have an SI subscription, so I don't get to see any of his stuff, but he is just fantastic. He writes good sports pieces, but he writes about a lot of good stories that you wouldn't be able to know about except for him. He uses his space in a big publication to better other people, which I think is just awesome. Sports has always been a little more than just watching great athletes (which I enjoy that also), and he brings out the good parts.

I haven't anything about that movie. I'll have to go look some stuff up. I'm assuming its about basketball, so I'm sure I'll love it. He is a great writer, I've been meaning to get the books that he has wrote, but with school and work I hardly find time to do a whole lot.

...oh yeah you think we're debating now just wait til football homey...TITANS vs. colts...twice a year.

Whoops, make that about football. I'll still have to catch it though.
