Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

If they leave it like it is, then have the NCAA adopt a clause in the LOI to if they spend less than 3 years at the university and leave to go into the professional level, they pay the university back for the amount of years remaining on his scholarship. A player can leave after one year, but must pay back 3 years of scholarship money. If he leaves after 3 years, the player doesn't owe anything to the university. I think that could be a win/win situation. Any comments, suggestions?

You would end up getting a lot of people finding other avenues to play until they are NBA eligible in that case. Play a year or two in Europe, or some other league. I don't know how that one would hold up under lawsuits and other crap that would follow.

The one year rule has really helped college basketball IMO. Once a player gets to campus, then they prove themselves against better competition than in high school. Seems to me that once they are in college for a year and get settled in, they can make a better decision than if they were coming straight into the NBA from HS. Basically, the programs that take in these types of players have to do a lot of foreshadowing and guessing, but that comes with the territory. If a kid has a chance to make millions and work on his game on a full time basis with the best coaches in the world, then let him go. Players can still develop their games at the NBA level, they can practice more, have access to better facilities, trainers, and everything else. Plus, you are rich and enjoying yourself.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

"I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel
