I was on the ESPN boards for Tenn. seeing what rumors about Pearl were flying around there when low and behold a Tenn. idiot posted that Tenn. was the best state for basketball just because Tenn. and Memphis were #1 . Just wondering how many national championships the whole state has. I doubt the whole state has as many as IU does by itself. Bunch of fuckin idiots. They can have Pearl. I think he would be good at IU but he is not the only good coach out there. :goiu: |

There is no team in the state of Tennessee with a national title in basketball. Not Memphis, Tennessee, Vanderbilt, Belmont, East Tennessee State, or anyone has a national title in men's basketball. B) |

Lady Vols have more than the entire state of Indiana
<_< That said, Indiana DOES have top 20 teams in IU, Purdue, Notre Dame, and Butler.....more than any other state in the country right now. |

There are only 10 teams in the state of Indiana that play in Division 1. California has the most overall playing in D-1. |

No doubt. You would really have to live down here to understand how crazy these homers are when it comes to the SEC. I can listen to it when it comes to football, but when the D-bags start going on and on about how the SEC is the best B-Ball conference even though they only have 1 team in the RPI top 25 I just want to strangle somebody. :gun: SEC homers |

Maybe they meant this season. They have a case. Three men's teams in the top 20 and a women's team that is number 1 or 2. I'm not sure where they're ranked, I don't follow women's basketball........at all. But Indiana has four teams representing, so its a close one. I say we have an 8 team bracket to determine the best state for basketball. Question is who do the Lady Vols play? |

Did you hear Bruce Pearl on PTI last week when he was talking about basketball championships in the state of Tennessee. "Pat Summit and I are very important to our state, because between us we have won 7 National Chamionships. It's just that she has won all 7 of them" At least he has a sense of humor about the fact that Tennessee men's basketball has never been on the map. |
![]() The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism. | |

Statements like that, and others that I have heard, make me realize just how content he is with his job down at UT. He has close to zero pressure, any winning he does is icing on the cake, he can prove to win big there, and like he said in an interview "I've been poor for 47 years and rich for 2.", he is getting paid well and they can afford to pay him even more. He looks to be at UT for the long haul IMO. |

“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves." "I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel
