Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

"practice...practice...we're talking about practice"

...i feel the same way about iverson, love his competitive spirit and passion...but i just can't get past that statement...that statement sums up what we've been saying about the nba right there.

That was bad, and I didn't like it at all, but did you realize that happened almost 6 years ago? That doesn't seem that long ago to me. Amazing.

For all that he has done bad (which was plenty), most of it happened when he was very young and very rich. Unfortunately, thats the nature of young people who have been poor their whole lives. Their sense of entitlement and attitude is horrible. He has grown up by leaps and bounds IMO, and his toughness, determination, and will to win were always something I tried to emulate on a basketball court or anything else I ever did. I don't use an athlete's personal life as a role model, but more the way they approach things on an athletic field. I could care less what LeBron James or Kobe Bryant does when they leave the court, but if they do good things, its an added bonus.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

No shit, that kid is passing up so much money its absolutely ridiculous (isn't it sad I can call a person older than me a kid? He sure has earned it though). These guys make so much money, its unheard of and they will piss it away to go to strip clubs and risk getting themselves killed. I'd build myself a big ol' house and just bring all my friends over to my place and have a good time instead of going out into public that much and putting yourself at risk.

Like they say, you can take the boy outta the hood, but you can't take the hood outta the boy.

I'm not going to lie, if I had that kind of money, I would go to the strip club occasionally and "make it rain" on them hoes. Probably buy me a couple of bentleys, and a mansion on a lake.

If I had that kind of money, I wouldn't risk my life and the possibility of making more money so that I could go out to the club and watch girls take off their clothes. I'm all for naked girls, but unfortunately, when you are in that position, you have to make "sacrifices". I'd rather be playing football and making 5-6 million a year and miss out on the strip club than go and not be making that money. It seems like a fairly easy decision to me.

After reading the title of this thread, I thought for sure the first post was just going to say something like "Punch yourself in the balls."

I haven't paid attention to the NBA in a couple years. I've checked out this years standings a total of two or three times, and I know that Shaq and Jason Kidd were traded to the Suns and Mavs, respectively, and that the Celtics are killin' shit this year, but that's about it.

You guys summed up why I hate the league pretty well, so I'll leave it at that.

I like college bball better, but I'm a pretty big fan of NBA. I love the Blazers, and they are doing better than I thought they would this year, even though we have been struggling lately. Next year though, watch out. Who are your favorite teams?

this year i became a blazer bandwagoner given i was a sonics fan. a friend of mine actually just started a board like this for the espn blazer regs. it hasn't really jumped into full gear yet, but it's set up in a good way.

How in the hell can you be a Blazer fan after being a Sonic fan? lol

well, i was sort of a sonics fan by default being from that area.. but to tell you the truth, after about the mid-90s, i developed a hatred for the nba. i think it's the worst professional league around. players have no passion, don't pay defense, and disregard the whole concept of basketball.

but given the way the sonics organization served up a huge "fuck you!" to a city i love, i can't help but look to the next closest option. I'm a Roy fan as well

Roy is a beast. I hope the city keeps the Sonics in town long enough for one of the Softies to step up to the plate and buy the team. It's good to keep more of that Windows monopoly money close to home.

last week all of the local sports shows reported it's official that the team is leaving after the season. Say hello to your Oklahoma City Sonics!

i don't even want them to stay anymore. howie lincoln is enemy number 1 to Seattle. I'm sure glad we made him rich to begin with :puke:
