Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I figured you guys would get a kick out of that.  :D

Chillin' is probably thinking:  :wtf:

No problem Lars. You've always been a good friend.

I appreciate you and Bob giving me some practical advice. I had the opportunity to do some aspiration system duct design at a grain elevator years ago, and understand the basic concept of loses and balancing the system, but a little book learning is no substitute for some serious knowledge about modern HVAC systems and best practices.

As a side note, grain dust can be very explosive. The storage facility I worked at had a huge explosion in the 70's and it tore apart the underground tunnels where the conveyor belts move the grain around. We used special saws and drills that didn't spark, and absolutely no torches/welding were allowed inside.

That's one place you definitely don't want to take up the habit of smoking... :D
I always loved the brass hammers so you don't create a spark...
We design a lot of exhaust systems for grain elevators up toward Mt. Vernon Indiana and up around the Princeton area.

I am 40. Grew up outside of South Bend, last of six kids. One went to Rose Hulman, 2 went to IU, and the other three of us went to Purdue.

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed

This has got to be the only sports forum in history that could get away with beginning as a "What Is Your Age" thread and then turning into the lot of you babbling and arguing about furnaces and security systems and whatnot...I love it!

Eelbor, I'm a South Bend guy myself. Where exactly does "outside of South Bend" refer to?
