Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Just asked Mariotti and Plaschke how far IU would go in the tournament.

Plaschke said Elite 8.
Mariotti said we could make it even farther.

I hope so. Gotta start playing better for sure though. I think we'll pick it up a little once we put Sampson a little further back in the rearview.

I was kind of surprised that they both picked us to go Elite 8 or further. I think a majority of fans on this board would say Sweet 16 or less...otherwise the Purdue fans would call us homers.

Well we have the potential for a Final 4, just have to play our asses off. I will be upset with anythng less than an Elite 8.

I'll pick IU to make the final game unless they end up on Purdue's side of the Final Four bracket.

We do win games, they're just by short margins. Kind of like OSU last year. A lot of teams came within 6 points of them each game, but couldn't beat them.

That's a good point about OSU. Purdue fans thought we came close, but then again, so did most teams! :) OSU's 3 pt shooting let them down in the final, or they would have won. Odom was an absolute beast in that Final!

Things are coming together for IU. White is playing great, and Basset has been very productive. I wouldn't worry about Gordon having a couple of off games, it happens to everyone.

For IU? How about your Boilers? I would have never guessed they would be chasing the Big Ten Title. At least not this year anyhow. B)

Our team just has to play smarter first and foremost. A lot of these games we've only been winning by small margins have been because of our ridiculously stupid turnovers....most of them not even forced! Just trying to be too fancy most of the time.

Think about how many points we would "save" by cutting 24 turnovers into a reasonable 12. Gotta figure we'd convert on about half, and negate around the same for the other team. That's a good 12 point swing right there that we've been spoon feeding to opponents every game. Imagine if we can keep some of those points.

This is the time of year where you REALLY need to value EVERY possession. Hopefully the team figures it out...

The PTI guys both think that we are a Final Four team as well.

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

IU can make the final four if they don't meet TN, Uconn and any other team that can press and/or has a long, athletic frontline.

Seriuosly,

Final four IU or Purdue not likely. IU has the talent but does not play as a team. Purdue would need a imploded bracket and a few lucky bounces to reach the elite 8 or final four. The lack of size inside for Purdue will hurt us when we get to the sweet 16. IU just has to many internal problems right now. IU down 4 in the tourney with 1:30 to go against a strong team in the sweet 16 will fold. I believe both teams make the sweet 16. Hell Indiana could have three teams in the sweet 16. IU wins by 10 or more in East Lansing then i will say they could make a elite 8 run because one never knows how the brackets will shake out. Purdue will make a good showing and be ready for a run next year.
