| Welcome to Our Hoosier Board! Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions. Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful. Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine! Poll In the option with (regardless of teams faced) or whatever I'm referring to Wisconsins elite 8 run, when despite making the Elite 8, played a #10, #11 and #14 to get there. |

I like to say mine falls into "Overall performance" would mean; What teams have they beaten that they were not supposed to beat? How they fare on the road vs home? How they are playing now? What happened in there losses, injuries, court advantages? Is the team improving? Who thats good have they beat? Can this team honestly win at what level?... ETC Anyways that is what I used to judge but everyone is different, I feel I am pretty good at predicting how a team will do vs another because I take all the circumstances (The big picture) into account. Not just that they are #1 vs #19 or whatever, I try to take as much as I can into account. |

When comparing two teams, the head-to-head is the most important factor. However, you need to also consider how strong they finish in conference play and in the tourney. It's possible that Team A loses to Team B due to matchup problems, but Team A clearly has the better overall season. Team B fans will alway have a legitimate claim to being the better team. Now to get more specific when comparing IU and Purdue: 1) Purdue's football team was better this season, because IU needed a last second field goal on their home field, and the home field advantage is 7-14 pts in college football. Then IU laid a turd in their bowl game. 2) IU's bball team is SLIGHTLY better than Purdue's because they got the W in AssHall without playing their best ball. Of course Purdue had an off shooting night, but I'll still give IU the slight advantage. |
