Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I don't know if anyone has the full article from peegs, but according to peegs the 4 recruits that signed LOI for next year are willing to wait to see who IU will hire and talk to the new coach when he is hired. Also, Elston was mentioned as doing the same thing. That is why I think we should hire the coach in April right after the NCAA tourney is over. (see link below)

Elston has pretty much said publically from the beginning that he was waiting to see who the new coach was going to be. I've seen him at what seems like every IU game this season. Always decked out in IU gear. He's from the state of Indiana and my bet is he's already fully geared up to end up at IU( since his initial commitment.)

Ebanks' AAU coach is an IU grad and was a big reason he initially gave IU a look. Anyway, he's a well-known poster on Peegs and made a post earlier this morning saying that barring player transfers from our current team and a postseason ban, it's still very likely he'll remain at IU. He said a big reason was because he really liked the guys on our team, but especially the town of Bloomington.

Also, this came the day after Dakich reportedly started contacting our 2008 recruits about the future. He's apparently visiting all 4 of them over the course of this week since we have so much time between our 2 games. Dan is going to do everything in his power to get those kids to stay here....because he knows he's a lot more likely to get the permanent job if he does. If he can do it, great for him. Coach Dakich is a great guy, and if he can prove over the course of the rest of this season that he is the man for the job, then I will fully support him. But this would include keeping ALL of our current recruits, AND taking this team deeeep into the tournament.

On a side note, I've been reading a lot of newspaper articles and hearing a lot of talk around town, and the amount of support for former players for Dakich is pretty overwhelming....

Interesting quote from an article that just went up on Peegs:

"The coach was reluctant to mention the names of the signees he has already met with but we can tell you he (Dakich) was spotted yesterday watching Devin Ebanks and his St. Thomas More Academy team play in the quarterfinals of the New England Prep School championships The 6-foot-8 wing player is highest acclaimed Hoosier signee as he is ranked #13 in the Rivals150 for the senior class."

Certainly nice to hear then B)
