| Welcome to Our Hoosier Board! Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions. Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful. Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine! This is sucks. From this list, I don't like any of them. But if I had to pick, Montgomery as a stop gap until the program turns around. By 2012, we could get a real coach in here. :banghead: |

I don't understand why you guys require a big name. Not trying to flame here. Bobby Knight 3 titles in 12 years guy was not a big name when you hired him. I have said this before that a big name doesn't make IU A coach at IU who wins becomes a big name. IU made Knight a big name not Knight making IU a big name. Brownell is a good coach and has the recruiting ties in the midwest established he is a great hire. Better to buy a stock before the fad than after you identify it and it is on the decline. Army After graduation in 1962, Knight coached junior varsity basketball at Cuyahoga Falls High School in Ohio for one year. Knight then enlisted in the U.S. Army and accepted an assistant coaching position at Army in 1963, where, two years later, he was named the head coach at the relatively young age of 24. In six seasons at West Point, Knight won 102 games, with his first as a head coach coming against Worcester Polytechnic Institute. One of his players was Hall of Fame coach Mike Krzyzewski. I remember there being talk about him some time ago but haven't heard much on him recently. Has he made any comments about the IU job that anyone is aware of? He would be my choice and the one I would go after the hardest. Just curious if anyone has opinions on him being the next IU coach? |

We really must have fallen far if the IU job isn't more appealing than Washington St... |
