Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Any South-side fans besides me? I think its going to be an interesting year as far as pitching. Our lineup looks strong with Dye, Thome, Konerko, Crede, Swisher, and Pierzynski. You really can not pitch around anyone there. Like I said my worry is the pitching, its what won us a world series in 2005 and we are really thin on it this year.

I really hated losing Swisher at Oakland, but then again, we hated losing Hudson, Mulder and Zito.

eh...nevermind.

Hell yeah man, I can't wait for the season to get started! I'm excited for Crede's return, I hope he hasn't lost anything, we'd be deadly if he were to return to his pre-injury form at the bat and at 3rd.

I share your excitement about Swisher too, I always liked him at Oakland (probably my 2nd favorite team), so I was gassed when I found out he was comin' to the South side. Cabrera should play a big role too, I'm happy we won't have to rely on Uribe on an everyday basis again.

Hopefully we'll put on a good show, the AL Central is as tough as ever this year (with the exception of the Royals, of course, and the fact that the Twins are minus Santana).

Go south siders!!

Ok here is my thoughts on a few topics you picked up. The A's are also a team a root for due to Frank Thomas landing there 2 years ago and my best friend from Purdue is a A's fan from the bay area.

I think Crede will get traded for some pitching sometime during the year. The only reason we did not trade him before his injury was to hopefully increase his value by putting up numbers again. Josh Fields IMO will be starting at 3rd by the end of the season. He is young, he is talented and most of all he is cheap.

Thank god Uribe will probably only be playing some limited 2nd base, he is just horrible to watch at the plate. His defense don't get me wrong is astounding, I have flashbacks all the time of some of the stuff him and Iguchi used to do.

Swisher is a solid .265 guy that will get you Rbi's, but most of all he is clutch and a solid outfielder and how awful was it to watch Brian Anderson last year at the plate? He would look so good (look at his series vs the AL West) and then strike out 15 times in a row.

The AL central is just always going to be a tough division and I think year after year can be argued that its either the Central or the East that is the toughest in the league. I think the Central is deeper (minus KC sorry its not the mid 80s). Yet the East can be top heavy with Boston and NY (God if I have to watch another NY vs Boston game announced by Joe Buck I will fucking kill myself.)

Ohh I believe Santana will dominate the NL, he will just be added to the list of AL pitchers who left and won Cy Youngs in the NL.

Classic DJ and Hawk moment

Hawk: There's Russell Crowe. Gladiator was a great movie.
DJ: So was Mystery Alaska, I told you about that movie.
Hawk: Yeah. I haven't seen it.
DJ: Well those are my two favorite Russell Crowe movies
Hawk: My all-time favorite is still.... ET
DJ: He wasn't in that!
Hawk: So? It's still my favorite.
DJ: Can you do an ET impression?
Hawk: No.
DJ: I can.
Hawk: Okay.
DJ: ET Phone Home, ET Phone Home
Hawk: (silence...)
DJ: Did you see my finger light up?
Hawk: I'll show you a finger.

Ditto and DJ and Hawk being the most annoying team in sports. The White Sox might finish 3rd by default, since Minnesota is only a shell of what it was with Santana. You can't lose a Cy Young winner and just turn the page the next year without him. My concern with the Sox is the bullpen, and starting pitching (though to a lesser extent, since they locked up Buhrle). How are the Sox planning to get to Jenks towards the end of the game?

I fucking hate DJ and Hawk. They are probably THE worst commentators in baseball. Their fucking saying "You can put it on the board.... YES" makes me want to kill infants. That is the absolute worst saying ever. I would rather say Boiler Up. I would seriously like to meet those guys in an alley. OK my rant is over, but I still hate those fuckers.

The most annoying broadcasting duo in all of baseball...

I think they are blatant homers, and Hawk is sometimes delusional. However I find them entertaining and laugh at what they say quite a bit, if you take them seriously I see how they could be annoying but if you look at it like listening to a bad talk show it fits right in.

However I highly doubt Hawk is ever drunk or just lost in the head completely like a certain "this old cub" I know. I can not listen to WGN without being like WTF did he just say?
