Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I just want to give some props to Dakich who basically put his own public perception on the line for Indiana Basketball. It became abundantly clear to me that Dakich didn't dismiss Ellis and Bassett because he was trying to get the head coaching job. Rather, he dismissed them because he knew a new coach was coming in and he wanted that coach to be able to start off on a positive foot with Indiana basketball. It would have been real shitty if the first thing Crean had to do was kick Bassett and Ellis off the team.

We've all been pretty harsh on Dakich, but at this moment I couldn't be more proud that he is a Hoosier. I hope he is able to stay connected to IU basketball in some form.

I agree, I don't think he had any hidden agenda's. He knew by then he wasn't going to get the head coaching job, but had to act on the behalf of the university on that tough decision.

...WOW, you just blew my mind with that...i don't know why but i never thought about the fact that that could be the new coach's first duty...thanks for bringing it to my attention...

...and you are correct and i will admit that i was harsh on dakich...as good of a guy as he is, i just did not want him as head coach...

...but you are right he is a TRUE HOOSIER!!!

Agreed. I was arguing this point with Brum the other day. But you're absolutely right. Dakich is a great guy that cares deeply for this program. I'm just glad he's not our permanent head coach. ;)

Dakich might have earned himself an assistant or operations job for life at IU.

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

I've been harsh on Dakich too, but that's only because I knew (and was afraid) that he is not the right guy for the head coaching job. Not his fault, I understand, and I believe he has done whatever it good for the program.

Kudos to Dakich.

We'll see. I'll judge Dakich based on what comes from this. If he's happy to remain at Indiana, then I'll completely agree, but if he leaves for another school, then I'll still have my doubts about what his intentions were.
