Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Quote from the IDS today.

“I never left the team, I quit,” Ellis said. “So it really wasn’t that we got kicked off, we quit. I’m looking forward to still being a Hoosier, I never had intentions on leaving, that wasn’t even an option.”

Ummm. You never left the team, but you quit? And leaveing was never realy an option. But you quit? Seriously? Do you think telling everyone that you didn't get kicked off-you quit, paints you in a better light? If anything you look like even more of an asshole because you QUIT before the season was even over.

What a jerkoff. Get rid of his ass and see how he enjoys JUCO basketball again.

As for Bassett - he must be just as dumb for getting involved with Ellis. What kind of career is Ellis throwing away? None. At least Bassett had a CHANCE to play professionally. I don't care if either of these unappreciative little shits play IU ball ever again.

Unfortunately I think they both play for IU next year because we simply don't have enough players to NOT allow them back on the team. I hope Crean really whips them into shape...

That first quote by Ellis may be the quote of the year. If that kid is wearing an IU jersey next season, its a disgrace to a proud basketball program. Same could be said for Bassett, but at least he isn't ignorant to make his feelings known to the public.

What a couple of idiots.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

"I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

He quit the team, but wasn't planning on leaving school. That's why he said he was concentrating on his academics. That's how I interpreted it.

Both JE and AB had personal issues with Dakich, but I think that's where Ellis' issues stopped. Bassett, on the other hand, is a whole other story...

Friend-of-a-friends story time...

So I know a guy who says he knows the guy who used to be in charge of clearing the IU basketball team for academic eligibility. Apparently he quit the job because the was so much pressure from Sampson the bend the rules and fudge a few things to get all the players eligible. They hired someone a little more "open-minded" and continued from there. So, if that's a true story, he could really just be that dumb and can't quite string together enough thoughts to create a consistent excuse.

I have a question.

If a team parts ways with an athlete, like Basset and Ellis, and said athlete transfers to another DIV I school are they required to sit out a year? I was trying to find the answer to that today and kept coming up short. It looked to me if you even practiced with a Div I team you were required to sit out a year without special dispensation up to and including the pope.

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed

I would think so. It would still be considered a transfer.
