Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Not my point at all. I am just saying it can be done with a young team. I have lived through enough years of basketball to know it is not friggin likely. When push comes to shove I think IU will be middle of the pack next year. If they get a post season ban, which I do not think is likely, next year would be the perfect year for it....with the projected team they will have a ban is a non issue. But, a few lucky breaks with the 'released' signees and a decent JC transfer and a few bad losses from the upper half of the conference, and IU is in the hunt. All things are possible.

And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed

Purdue had four freshmen and they did fairly well if I remember correctly.  Granted, these four are not your average recruiting class, but..

Purdue also had that class secured before the previous season even started. Crean already had a class set up for Marquette. none of which are nearly as good as the four Purdue got, if any of them follow him. He will have to start all over, with most of the prospects both good and mediocre are already committed in LOI. Who available do you think he has a snowballs chance in hell at?

keep in mind that Ebanks is a possible 1-and-done and might not want to deal with all the chaos in possibly his only college year.

Dude back off. This is a happy day for IU fans, something we haven't had for awhile, and quite frankly I mean to enjoy it and not worry about that stuff right now. Thanks for your concern though.........

I'm not trying to flame......and IU fans should be happy they got Crean.

But Jesus Christ, talking about competing for the big ten title next year? If you don't grab onto reality, you're gonna chase off your coaches every 3-4 years and no one will want to coach there.

I think almost all IU fans are being more realistic. We may have finally landed our boy to lead IU post-Knight, so we fans need to do our part and be patient. In my post above, I said if we make the tournament next year, thats enough for me to be optimistic. But I do get what you're saying at least.

New guy here. I was on the ESPN page when all of you were there. I'm tired of the bandwagon bloggers so I guess that leads me here...

I don't see why we can't be as good next year as we were this year. Yea, we won't have the talent (DJ and Gordon--still crossing my fingers for Gordon though) but we will have a much more stable team with a great coach who can actually run an offense and develop his players. I guess it all depends on the sanctions but I am pretty pumped right now.

indhoosiers, nice to have you aboard. I agree with you, and as I said in the earlier posts, if Crean can make a big recruiting splash right away, we could definitely compete for the Big Ten title next year.

I don't think we will compete for the big ten title, and I don't care. We should be competitive, and if we make the tournament, then IU fans should be extremely optimistic about our future with Coach Crean. Man I just started dating this girl from work I like and this hire in the same day? Euphoria.

let's see some pics. ;)

Haha yeah she'd love that. I'll say she has a killer body, way out of my league, but I'm not complaining.

Back at cha. Wouldn't she? Please keep in mind I am a Purdue Grad.

Complete team meltdowns happen in the Big Ten. Just look at some of this years 'projected' finishes and compare them with reality. Besides, with the coaching carousel that is bound to begin now that the season is over who knows who will get cold feet on a LOI. One thing that is certain is that nothing is certain.
