Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I flew into Indy Monday night for roundtable discussions with a few IU trustees and committee. The search was not really a search. Pitino was the man. So we dined at St Elmos on fine steaks and bourbon as the final details were being confirmed. Greenspan was really never part of the conversation - just an IU admin figurehead. The Pabst Blue Ribbon committee was a farce as well - though Wayne Radford was helpful. Do any of you minions realize how good he was '78-79? Really good. I digress.

The conversations with Slick Rick were positive and he was almost ready to pack his Ivory suit and head north on I-65. Unfortunately Prez McWanker posed the question of Rick's resume and wanted complete comfirmation that he had no hint of any indescretions. Hell, I knew Pitino was a little greasy - who wasn't that coached at Hundred Dollar Handshake U. in Lexington? But nothing has ever been pinned to him - or so I thought.

Then Grace Calhoun speaks up regarding some BS on Pitino while he was at Hawaii years and years ago. I didn't even realize he was an assistant coach there. Come on - the rainbows? Anyway, this uptight bitch says the NCAA sanctioned him for something back in the '70's. McWanker and Gonzo immediately stammer something about 'we have to be above reproach with this hire regardless of the timeframe and infraction'. I coughed 'bullshit' (I had at least 4 Maker Marks at this point). I was promptly asked to leave the room.

So I go relieve myself and belly up to the bar - some hot blond comes over to sit right next to me when there were plenty of open spots. I thought she might be a hooker until she told me about her 2 kids. Could this night get any worse?

Anyhoooow, Eskew finds me about an hour later (2 more MM's downed, drinking fine kentucky bourbon as a precourser to the imminent IU hire - good karma I thought ), and tells me the PBR committee and IU trustees wants to go in a different direction and it was time for Plan B. I thought plan B? :wtf:

I asked him "are you trying to single handedly destroy an elite program all by yourself"? He chuckled and thanked me for my services during this trying time. In essence, I was now persona non grata after the BS comment. I guess after the 6+ MM's I was probably not at my best - so I switched to Buffalo Trace just for a change of pace. Despite my ingenuious apologies pleas, he gave me the Heisman and said he'd call me when a decision was made - but all of a sudden Pitino was not the lock I thought he'd be.

I went back to the bar to find that blond again but she was gone. It was late but I wasn't giving up hope so I went back to my hotel room, watched a little porn and passed out. Yesterday, I was waiting to hear from Eskew but he never called - mother fucker. I winged it that Pitino's transgressions would be overlooked but obviously they weren't.

I was wrong because of an 11 7/8th hour finding. I apologize for those that were misled. While my credibility might take a near term hit, I will do what I can to keep you loyal minions in the loop for future IU developments. I think Crean will do well at IU and will have them back in the elite conversation within 2-3 years. Keep the IU nation united - not divided - in our continued dominance of the manure sniffers and beyond.

That's freakin classic UB.....while your credibility as a reliable source of info will never recover from this, I believe your credibility as a world class bullshitter has now been forever enshrined....haha.

Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

Oh it is. I like how he name drops bourbon brands and pretends they are such a fine thing that they are inaccessible to most people. I like Maker's Mark, but you can get it at Walmart, its not that hard to get, even if it is a little more on the expensive side. I also don't know anybody who would be drinking 6 bourbons neat unless by that you mean your taking shots at a business dinner? <_<

I see people drink bourbon on the rocks all the time at business dinners, but it is funny how "Makers Mark" is considered a premier alcohol by UB. I'm not even sure if St. Elmo's even serves "middle shelf" whisky.

focus people - focus.

this is not about the grade of bourbon. the dinner tab was being picked up by IU so knowing full well the pending Pitino price tag, I wanted to be respectful and conserve.

Makers Mark is certainly not an elite boubon but considered a little better than average - think turdue basketball.

Actually, SON, "on ice" means with ice. "Neat" means without ice or water., or nothing added.

Any other lies to spout out?
