Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I was very impressed with the press conference for Crean's introduction today. It was the polar opposite of He Whos Name Shall Not Be Mentioned. That press conference was dead silent, everybody in Assembly Hall was like "what the fuck is this outsider doing here?", and you could just see the sleeze dripping off the guy.

Crean was passionate, humble, and genuinely excited to be at IU. I cant wait to see some real throwback basketball finally played in Bloomington. No more standing around on offense, quitting, cheating, losing on purpose (bet you young fellas are pissed off about that!!!), any of that garbage. He's gonna have a nice run here at IU, I can feel it.

I loved his response then everyone asked why he would leave Marquette, simply "It's Indiana" His speech gave me chills. We are back on the right path.

Not only did he say all the right things, it REALLY felt like he was being genuine. Many times people say it to say it, because they know that's what the people on the other end want to hear. I don't think that was the case here.

I was really impressed with him. I'm relieved that they got this done before the Final Four. So I don't have to look at the floor while wearing my Hoosier gear down at the Final Four. I wish I could get ahold of one of the "Crean and Crimson" shirts before I went.

Sampson said the same things, but he always looked like he was just going through the motions. Indiana's the greatest... tradition... doing it the right way... yada yada yada.

With Crean, he said the same things, but I have zero distrust of him. Definitely a good feeling that I think most have been waiting for for a long long time.

Just read the transcript of that press conference. Here is my response:

:puke:

It didn't take long for him to realize what to say.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

"I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel
