Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I don't usually put a lot of faith in UB's predictions, but this is the 3rd time I have heard this rumor lately. Is there any substance to it at all? Man, he would be GREAT!!!

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

trust me - there is validity to it. He was more than willing to come the last time but Donkey got a contract from IU's idiotic admin.

He is the perfect man for the job - see UKKK 1989.

I really can't stand Pitino, but I suppose he is one of the great old style coaches left.

I've never liked Pitino either. Probably because he used to coach UK. On the other hand if he came to IU I'm sure in a matter of minutes he'll be my second fav. coach of all time.

The only knock on Pitino here is the whole age thing, but he would be perfect at IU. He knows the area like the back of his hand, would always bring great recruits, and he would deter fans from sabotaging the program. He'd have sole rule of the program, and we'd be off and winning in no time. Would he put together a championship? Tough to say, but we'd have as good a chance as anybody to be a very good team year in and year out.

Pitino would win a national title at IU. there is no doubt in my mind.

Pitino would be a good choice. He has all the needed qualifications, like recent experience losing to Purdue!

My main question would be, other than money, why would he leave a mostly successful program for one that is on the edge facing potentially serious NCAA violations. Yes the prestige of the IU job is fairly large, but still.

I like Pitino though, I would take him as a coach in a heartbeat.

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed

Where is he gonna buy his Armani suits in Bloomington? I don't see it happening.

Pitino looked like a pimp in that all white suit! The only way I see him leaving Louisville is if he wants a bigger challenge. Lousiville was down for several years before Pitino went there and he brought them back to a national contender. Besides winning a championship what more can he do. Some coaches (ex: Larry Brown) prefer the journey of making a team good rather than coaching a good team.

Nice way to not address my point in anyway whatsoever.

I think Pitino already has a program that he's built that is located in a decently large city. Look at his history. He's from NYC. He has coached at Boston College, Providence College, UK, the Knicks, the Celtics. He's not a type of person who wants to go coach at a school that isn't necessarily in podunk, but a school that definitely is a little out of the way. That was my point.

Why would he leave???? They have got a little history down there and some banners hanging in the rafters. Besides that program is a hell of a lot closer to competing for a National Championship than IU. Get over yourself. :loser:

He's a job hopper anyway. Probably leave IU for.....Illinois.

I think he would try NBA again, how about the Pacers?
