  • Rick Pitino to IU?
Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Why would he leave???? They have got a little history down there and some banners hanging in the rafters. Besides that program is a hell of a lot closer to competing for a National Championship than IU. Get over yourself. :loser:

He's a job hopper anyway. Probably leave IU for.....Illinois.

another idiot post from Kneel&Bob.

you think UKKK was close to a national title when he left final 4 Providence for probation ridden UK???????

UL is a fine program but not even close to IU on the elite scale. He has stated numerous times how highly he thinks of the IU job and would go if offered. Go argue it with him and his close circle of friends in Louisville - Jr. Bridgeman for one.

Look Ma , I have a nickname from the UnBelievable ass.

Any coach would leave Providence for UK regardless of the probation because it's UK !!!!!!!!!! More national championships than IU. I think they might be higher on the ELITE SCALE than IU, whatever the fuck that is.

Of course they are. Also Pitino has business ties to that part of Kentucky outside of basketball (he's a part owner of Celtic Pride Stable) (Reason for him to not move now, not talking about the Providence to UK move).

Good luck finding the money to pay him. The only reason he will mention IU is to get more money from UL.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

I'd be shocked and surprised if it happened, but crazier things have happened. The rumblings are a bit odd given what he has said about UofL in the past, but he has also always had nice things to say about IU. He is IMO the most realistic of the big name coaches. After him its Brownell, Miller, Grant, Alford and so on.

Pitino would be a good choice.  He has all the needed qualifications, like recent experience losing to Purdue!

My main question would be, other than money, why would he leave a mostly successful program for one that is on the edge facing potentially serious NCAA violations.  Yes the prestige of the IU job is fairly large, but still.

I like Pitino though, I would take him as a coach in a heartbeat.

Where is he gonna buy his Armani suits in Bloomington? I don't see it happening.

big fem, you wouldn't know an Armani suit from a men's warehouse suit.

AND I GUARANTEE THAT

there aren't any 'big' name coaches available and/or attractive now.

The era of the mega coaches is quickly coming to an end.

Its not me that you want to come coach for IU. Besides, right now I'm a college student. I don't have that kind of cash.
