  • Rick Pitino to IU?
Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I love how unbiased takes credit for a "scoop" that I posted months ago.

the only 'scoop' FlamerNLA has is the scoop of gizz he guzzles off his life-partner's cock tip.

Another homo reference from UB. Man, they are adding up.

if the shoe fits....

Good luck finding the money to pay him. The only reason he will mention IU is to get more money from UL.

we shall see.

I'd be shocked and surprised if it happened, but crazier things have happened. The rumblings are a bit odd given what he has said about UofL in the past, but he has also always had nice things to say about IU. He is IMO the most realistic of the big name coaches. After him its Brownell, Miller, Grant, Alford and so on.

what about tony bennett?

Ahhh you got me there Enemy, forgot about him. With him being out at Washington State, I don't know much about his situation. I know that IU is obviously a step up and he is a Midwest guy, but it seems to me that the UW job may be his "dream" job. If he takes the IU job, he may never see the change to coach at UW.

I think IU goes after Pitino, then, Pearl, then Bennett, then Stallings, then Miller, then Brownell. If that all fails, they have to go for Alford IMO. I think the first 3 loooong shots, but they have to at least try. Who the hell knows with Greenspan though.

We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

so, you think bennett will stay at wsu until bo ryan retires?

That I don't know. I think if he enjoys WSU enough, he would wait it out. Ryan isn't exactly young if I remember correctly and just looking at him. Plus, Bennett is relatively young and could probably get a nice little pay raise and hone his craft in a pressure free setting.

It all really depends on how much he likes WSU, how much he wants the UW job, and if he wants to tackle the beast that is coaching at Indiana University (lots of perks, lots of challenges, lots of craziness).

Pitino would be a good choice.  He has all the needed qualifications, like recent experience losing to Purdue!

My main question would be, other than money, why would he leave a mostly successful program for one that is on the edge facing potentially serious NCAA violations.  Yes the prestige of the IU job is fairly large, but still.

I like Pitino though, I would take him as a coach in a heartbeat.

Where is he gonna buy his Armani suits in Bloomington? I don't see it happening.

big fem, you wouldn't know an Armani suit from a men's warehouse suit.

Nice way to not address my point in anyway whatsoever.

What point? Sarcasm with sarcasm? :loser:

Is anybody going to talk about any real credentials behind their Pitino predictions. You 2 school girls are fighting over who posted it first, but neither of you have given us any reason to believe it....and I want to believe it bad!

The body knows what fighters don't: how to protect itself. A neck can only twist so far. Twist it just a hair more and the body says, "Hey, I'll take it from here because you obviously don't know what you're doing... Lie down now, rest, and we'll talk about this when you regain your senses." It's called the knockout mechanism.

AND I GUARANTEE THAT

Its not me that you want to come coach for IU. Besides, right now I'm a college student. I don't have that kind of cash.

Not to mention he wouldn't even know where to shop for one.

i for one do not want to believe it.

i don't know why but i just can't stand the guy. i don't know what it is but i hate louisville more than uk now and its because of pitino...if he came to iu it would make me sick...

...and besides he's too old. i don't want to be going through this coaching change shit for another 20 years. they need to get a young guy in there now that will be solid for 15 to 20 years minimum.

will pitino win right off the bat...probably. but that is not what we need right now. we need to just be consistent. we need our OWN pitino. we need someone young who will come in and do what he did with uk...only not leave 9 years into it...he's a money chaser and that is not what we need.

to me he just does not fit the iu program.

I don't think IU will go after Pearl because of previous NCAA problems. IU wont make that mistake again..... <_<
