Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

he's a top 15 coach. remember - he was at nondescript Marquette. at IU, he'll become a top 5 coach.

I think Crean is a good coach. I don't see anything special out of him that shows the ability to suddenly become "elite".
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

I agree with UB. Crean turned Marquette from a nobody into a regular top 25 team in Wisconsin of all places.

a "top tier" coach to me is an extremely reserved category where only a few names can exist at a time, so no crean is not there yet...

...so as of now i would have to say "second tier"...

...however when his career is over at IU i would lay down serious money saying that crean will be considered a top "tier coach"...

I have to say second tier now, what he does here will decide if he moves up. Top tier would be like Coach K, Roy Williams, Izzo, maybe Howland, etc. This is Creans first crack at a big time program, so he hasn't really had the chance to show if he belongs with the elite.

I'll bet right now he averages more wins/year, wins more BT titles and has more NCAA success than the "porkchop genius"

I really don't want to take your money. I know you probably don't have much of it.
