Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I think that we can do it if just Ebanks and Bassett come back, Holloway is welcome, but he' not very important and won't play much if Bassett is back. I would only want Ellis back if he gets his act together. He's a great defender who does a lot of things well ,including rebound very well for a guy who's only 6'5'', but he's got to get on board with the Tom Crean way of doing things.

Crean needs to probably get 3 of those 4 and add even more. There is absolutely ZERO inside presence and no depth. None are important to the long run success of the program IMO, but the more wins early, the better for Crean.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

I'm not trying to insult anyone in this post, but I don't think its gonna matter really. You're still losing over half of your scoring and there are too many teams that were middle of the pack this year, that will be improved next year. Next year's race will be more than a 4 person pack with a huge gap between them and everyone else.

i know this poll is somewhat goofy and is definitely very early to predict... but as rockspeed proved last night, by bumping a shitload of old threads, its just fun to look back and see how much things can change...

I think with Bassett, Crawford, Ellis, Ebanks, and Holman/DeAndre/Taber we might have a shot to make the tournament. We don't have a dominant big man like DJ, but if Ellis and Ebanks can rebound and Holman can be a presence defensively, we might be able to get lucky and beat some better teams.

If IU kept Basset, Ellis and got Ebanks. Barring a post season ban, they would probably be able to make the tournament. They would still win most of their home games (except maybe OSU, MSU and WISC) and prolly could still beat a few cupcakes on the road, (PSU, Iowa, NW). I would guess the top three in the league would still be Purdue, Wisconsin and MSU. Minnesota and OSU would still be in front.

Could the Big ten be a six-bid league next year? If IU is the 6th team, it maybe possible.

It was a six bid league two years ago. So who knows.

I think a lineup of:

1. Crawford
2. Ellis
3. Ebanks
4. Bassett
5. Holman

could probably compete in the big ten, depth would be an issue. But could possibly win 20 games.

However, without all four, i don't think they get more than 5 big ten wins.
