We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful. Ahhh.....no crickets. I'm here to save the day. I just can't believe how many Cubs fans there are in the Midwest compared to the Reds (a team that HAS won a championship in our lifetime) |

Reds should be much improved from last year, but I really can't stand Dusty's managing style. You got to love the younger guys, especially Brandon Phillips. He's a stud. They have a little bit of this and that, but I think they're still a year or two away from contention in the NL Central. Dusty might hold them back, as he did with the Cubs. |

Glad to see we do have a few Reds fans and not "crickets". I think the team should be built around Brandon Phillips. I think Harang is a work horse, but more like a #2 starter, but we get by with him as our #1. I think we need one more, at least, #2 starter. Also, I can't wait for Jay Bruce to take over for Adam Dunn. I know Dunn hits monster home runs, but I have never liked a player that K's as much as he does. I was a contact hitter when I played, and I believe in puttng the ball in play. That is why last year was his first year with 100+ RBI's. I have been a Reds fan since the early 70's as well. I remember those world series games against the A's and us finally winning one in 1975 and then again in 1976. Hey Bri, I really wanted Bedard. I think the M's got a great pitcher. |

Reds fan all my life, but too young for the Big Red Machine :( I was crazy pumped up in 1990 though.....Eric Davis was (and still is) my all time favorite player, and a lot of my friends were A's fans....the sweep was GREAT. Remember the Nasty Boys? |

I don't know if the Reds will be able to contend this year, but I look forward to them being GREAT in a few years if all their prospects pan out and the Front Office spends $$$$ on big name free agents. |

I've been a Reds fan since before I could talk. I think my first word was Concepcion. I had one of those little red wool caps with the white C on it that my parents couldn't pry off my head. They used to have to come into my room at night after I went to sleep and take it off of me and hang it on my bedpost. It always went right back on as soon as I woke up. Johnny Bench was my idol as a kid and he's still my all time favorite player, with Barry Larkin a close second. Do you guys remember the Baseball Bunch? I got up religiously at 7am every Saturday morning. I also used to tune my alarm clock radio to WLW and turn it down really low at night when my parents thought I was sleeping, so I could listen to Marty and the Old Lefthander, may God rest his soul. What a joy it was to hear those words, "...and this one belongs to the Reds!", night after night. I think the Reds really have a chance to do something this year if Volquez, Cueto, and Bailey(he'll be up before long) can give them anything backing up Harang and Arroyo in the rotation. They're gonna score their share of runs, and I think with Cordero the bullpen should be much better this year. Go Reds! |

Yeah, I was a big Reds fan during the Big Red Machine days. I still have a red bat signed by George Foster. Joe Morgan was probably my favorite. I don't watch as much baseball now but catch some of the games whenever I have time. This team has got me a little more excited this year than I have been in recent years. Cueto was awesome today. |

I think Voloquez (I think I spelled it right) could be good too. I think with Herang, Arroyo, Cueto, and Voloquez we have 4 pretty good starters. If we can get a number 5 starter, and it isn't Fogg, this team can stay in the race and possibly win it. I think that 5th starter could be Homer Bailey (yes, I said Homer). He had pitched 7 innings of shutout baseball in his first start for Louisville. I know it is triple AAA, but this kid can pitch. I wish we had a left handed starter though. I would have like Bedard in the lineup. Our bullpen is much better and will improve as the season goes on when Dusty can find their roles. Burton pitched awesome today. Phillips is a legitimate MVP candidate. |
