Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,

Lilly looking incredibly unsteady after getting rocked for 5 runs in an inning. Cubs give up the 7 run lead on the road and still end up beating the upstart Pirates in 12. Felt like if you lose that game, you lose the momentum of the Stros series. The speed is really helping out this year, even moreso than what I remember. And DLee is on one hell of a tear. Things are really adding up for the Cubbies! :)

Hey Phil. Kind of an ugly game after we went up 7-0, but it's important to win the ugly ones too.

As Bob said on the broadcast, errors and lack of timely hitting are trends we don't want to start seeing, as was the case this time last year. The final runs had more to do with Pittsburgh running out of pitchers than us winning the game.

One guy that is stepping up is Soto. I loved him at the end of last year and it looks like that wasn't a fluke. We are looking at our catcher for the foreseeable future and a possible all star in the next few years.

Gotta get Soriano and Aramis going pretty soon. We can't win consistently without them.

Yeah what do you guys have, 8 errors in 6 games? Well you take it any way you can get it.

8 in 7 games. Yet, we are still above .500.

Unfortunately for the Brewers, this will be the best baseball they will play all season long, while the Cubs are playing about as bad as they will. This has 2007 written all over it again.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

Hey, I'm not trying to start an argument, I was just making an observation. And as much talk I hear about how the Cubs have the same lineup plus Fukudome, the Brewers have only improved themselves from last year. I think its going to be close again at the end of the year. But for right now I'd rather focus on what's done instead of what you think it will be. Brewers are 5-1 tied with the best record in baseball and for the most runs scored so far.

All I'm saying is that its pretty damn early to start taking stats and standings very seriously. The Crew have 4 starters with an ERA of 3.38 or lower and Gallardo hasn't even pitched. I'll give you every dollar I own if that continues.

The Brewers will be there for a long, long time. The pitching has been unreal to this point, which is a good sign, but things aren't going to go like that all season long.

Well, the tone of that post seemed to be in a backhanded manner. Just starting conversation.

Oh I'm sorry I didn't mean for that to be a slam, I was just talking, and what you say is true, you can't project a season on 6 games.

Agreed. 6 or 7 games means little except what kind of start you get. Ask the tigers.

Lilly should be better than what he's done his first two games as well. Like you said Sheets will not continue to have 0.00 ERA for the rest of the year either.

Yeah, Sheets is good though. If he could stay healthy and with the Brewers' offensive capabilities, he is a legit Cy Young candidate. The Brewers have played great baseball this year and will be good all year long.

The Cubs on the other hand have been playing horribly outside of Fukudome, Lee, and Z. We still have some holes, but Soriano, Lee, and Ramirez have the capability to carry us through rough spots, and Fuku has shown some good signs. We really need Lilly and Hill to get their heads outta their asses though.

He has always given up lots of HRs, but his control is terrible so far. Doesn't bode well for our # 2 starter.

It's easy for me to be a Cub fan and a Boiler fan. Either way, I don't expect too much, wait for them to fold, and if they don't I'm happy. Sad but true.

Yeah Fukudome has been a great player so far. He's so patient when he's up to bat. He really makes pitchers have to throw strikes, he doesn't typically give them anything.

Well things are looking up in the Boiler's dept though. Painter with basketball, and we'll have A New Hope in couple years in Football. If someone doesn't have a sign with that in Star Wars font ... :getsome:
