that is a stupid poll. Are women more sexist than men? Is crackers and rednecks more racist than colored folk? I'm sick of the racism and sexism discussion. Let's talk about the issues that we need to get this country back on the right track. :soap: |

NLA, I haven't seen you list any issues that make Obama the best candidate. He is black, which got him an amazing 92% of the NC black vote. 40% of white men voted for Obama, so I think we can finally stop talking about whites being racist, at least compared to blacks. |

the racism could have something to do with the age of voters. as CNN pointed out, far more old people (65+) in indiana voted for hillary than barack. this either means that hillary can appeal better because she's older and "more experienced," or it means that the 65+ generation that lived before/during the civil rights movement still hasn't gotten over race in america. either way, i'd hope the candidate got picked because of their qualifications, not because of their race, sex, or age. |

i never supported either candidate in that statement. i didn't say if it was happening or wasn't happening, i said that i HOPE that a candidate will get picked not because of age, sex, or race but because of issues. unfortunately that is not true today, but in future elections we can hope. however, 92% of 12% of the population (one of the smallest voting minorities), would not win you a presidential election. |

Many of us feel that race is a ligitimate issue, and will need to be resolved to get this country back on track. It is truly amazing to me that such a "sophisticated" "evolved" society as ours would still cling to someone because they look the same. That is clearly happening with Obama right now. It's sad that the issues are being largely overlooked. I am white, and I would gladly vote for a black president if I thought he had the skills and ideology to do a good job, even if he was going against someone who "looks like me". It is disgusting to be honest with you. The most powerful person in the world decided upon by the same method a child uses when choosing a crayon to color a picture. |

What percentage of whites voted for a white candidate in the 2004 presidential race? Does that make them racist? What percentage of males voted for a male, are they now sexist also? What percentage of idiots voted for an idiot? Ok, trick question. |

ok, I said this before, but you guys obviously didn't listen. So, I will try again. These black people that you are talking about are for the most part liberal democrats. They are going to vote democrat in the primary and they are going to vote democrat in the general. As a democrat they are choosing between two people whose platforms are virtually the same, so does it really make them racist to vote for Obama? I mean c'mon lets be honest with ourselves here. If you had to choose between two people who were virtually the same on every policy would you not be inclined to vote for the person who was most like you? Also think about this. Many of these same blacks voted for John Kerry in 2004. So were they not racist then, and all of the sudden are now racist? |

Horrible, horrible comparison eel, and you know that. You can't possibly tell me that 92% of black people in North Carolina agree with Obama on issues but only 40% of white men agree with him on issues. That defies all laws of logic and probability. Are black people and white people born with different receptors that actually make us hear things differently, so we interpret the various issues differently? Get real Eel. |
