Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Wait! Damn, I left off one of my all time favorites: Empire of the Sun (do NOT confuse this with the The Last Emporer).

It stars a preteen Christian Bale and John Malkovic. Tells the story of a pampered English child living in China in WWII who has to learn to survive in a concentration camp.

Any man who doesn't cry when Christian Bale says "I can't remember what my parents look like" is more man than me.

Thats pretty random. I don't watch too many movies, but I'm always up to see something epic and heroic. It gets my heart pumping, and I love it.

Fuck me, forgot a few:

The Departed
Rounders
Without Limits (love Prefontaine)

Damn this list could go forever.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

Still thinking about my Top 10 movies, but if I had to vote for best Cowboy movie, 3:10 To Yuma would have to be tops.  Anyone else see this one?

I saw it Jaz. Its solid, Russell Crowe is fantastic.

I don't know about it being tops. There are a lot of great westerns, but this has at least got to be close to the top. Great movie. My wife, who hates westerns actually watched the whole thing and then grudgingly admitted that she liked it.

You guys that like Westerns, have any of you seen Open Range with Duvall, Costner, and Bening?

In the movie lies a scene more hardcore, chilling than Eastwoods ending in Unforgiven.

I've seen it. Very good movie. Not a shoot em up, gunfight every 5 minutes type of western, but still very good.

The movie actually manages to make Kevin Costner look like a badass. The beggining of the big gunfight scene where he walks up, asks the dude if he is the one that killed his friend, then casually shoots him in the head. Awesome.

I personally don't like Westerns, but I did like this one. I saw Open Range, Young Guns, and so on and don't even think I finished watching them.

But as a kid, I can remember my dad faithfully watching Bonanza and Gun Smoke. He loved them. :D

Christian Bale is slowly becoming one of my favs. He is just flat out fun to watch on the screen.

Yeah me too Jaz. He doesn't seem to make a bad movie. What about The Prestige? Another good Bale movie.

Man Open Range is worth watching just to see Kevin Costner shoot that dude in the head. If you turned it off early, you probably missed the best part.

I watch too many and like too many movies to have a top 10.
The 3 movies I find myself watching over and over again though are "A Few Good Men", "Jerry Maguire" and "Anchorman". You guys can say what you want about Tom Cruise - I think he is more than a little off too- but the man can act, and he makes good movies.

I agree. He's intense. A Few Good Men is one I could watch over as well, especially the court scene.

Jack Nicholson wasn't too shabby either.

He is a great actor indeed. And Will Ferrell/Steve Carrell together are non-stop laughter.
