Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

Richard Pryor, Eddie Murphy and Chris Rock are probably staples for me. But since they haven't done anything in a while, these new (relatively) guys are funny as hell and definately my favs as of now.

I love Chris Rock. I'm a pretty big fan of Daniel Tosh and Demetri Martin.

I like Martin too, definately original. ^_^ Was beginning to like Mitch Hedberg alot, unfortunately he overdosed a couple of years ago.

Strange thing is, I like Dane Cook in the movies, but don't necessarily like his stand up stuff.

Jim Gaffigan Standup

Funny story, he came up to Purdue last year and performed. I didn't go, but was out at a bar after the show had ended, and who comes in? Jim Gaffigan. He has people all around him and saying hi, and he goes and sits at the booth directly behind us. It ended up being a table of me and my two buddies and his opening act. Jim came over and said hey and talked for a bit, but was all over the bar. He was pretty cool and down to Earth. He did a Boilermaker and I thought he was going to vomit everywhere. Not a big drinker.

He is funny as hell though, with some great material.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

Great topic!

Jeremy Hotz was the first stand-up I listened to, absolutely awesome. I love Brian Regan the more I hear of him. Don't know the other guy.

My favorite, though, is Jim Gaffigan. He came to Purdue last fall and absolutely killed it. Did about 20 minutes solely on bacon. It was one of the those full-body aches from laughing for so long. After that, probably Lewis Black (coming next fall) or Stephen Lynch (came in April). Purdue Convocations has been nailing shows lately. Big comedians, Ben Folds came, and the Fray (eh) with Mutemath (awesome) two years ago....great stuff.

Jeremy Hotz snuck up on me. I was kind of put off at first by his demeanor, then slowly he just got funnier and funnier, and then somehow his "whiny" voice played perfectly into his material.

Regan too. I'm convinced he's just not all there.

In a good way. :D

HaHa, I couldn't remember his name but I was going to say the "Hot Pockets" guy. I was listening to him on XM radio the other day on the way to work and I thought I was going to have to pull over from laughing so hard. That guy is hilarious!!!
