Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I'm going to go out on a limb and say not next season at Mackey. The following season will be our best team, possibly ever (Kramer/Grant seniors, Rob/E't/JJ juniors, LewJack soph, not to mention where the '09 class players will be).

The first season where I think IU could even be favored in a game against Purdue would be Hummel/Moore/Johnson's senior season (assuming they stay). A lot can change, but we may be able to put a nice little run of victories together and parlay that into keeping a stranglehold on in-state talent.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."

It's either 11-12 or never. If Crean doesn't get it done in 11-12, there's a good chance IU gets their next "great" coach.

Yeah, I was thinking the same thing. That'd be season 4. The heat would be turning up if he hasn't reached the second weekend of the tournament by then (something he has done one time).

I'd love nothing more for Purdue's nobody recruits (the only good class was the '07 "lucky" class) to go into Bloomington and be the straw that broke the camel's back.

I don't see anyone who played on the team last year to lose to IU again.

Are you at all surprised?

I'm just waiting for an explanation. My guess:

"I mean, IT'S INDIANA!!!!"

Thats what usually comes out when there is no logical explanation to their reasoning.

All Crean needs to do is take his players into Assembly Hall and show them the banners. Painter just can't compete with that.

Much as I hate to say it, IU is tough to beat in Assembly Hall. I do not see Crean winning in Mackey for quite some time, but rivalries are odd things. I am going to have to go with '09-'10.

"Liberal, shmiberal. That should be a new word. Shmiberal: one who is assumed liberal, just because he's a professional whiner in the newspaper. If you'll read the subtext for many of those old strips, you'll find the heart of an old-fashioned Libertarian. And I'd be a Libertarian, if they weren't all a bunch of tax-dodging professional whiners." - Berkeley Breathed

I took '10-'11. I'm with eelbor that it's rough to win at a rival's place, but I don't think we'll be losing many games in '09 (like 4) and I don't think IU will be one of those loses.

Two reasons I don't think we lose in Bloomington that season:

1) That will be our best team ever.

2) IU will still be young and developing. I think IU starts to turn the corner late that season, but won't fully make the transition until the following season (like Painter's teams of the last two years).

Crean is already rehearsing his half time locker room speech for the '10-'11 season.

Because it is a fucking joke. Not realistic. Ridiculous. Laughable. If the situations were reversed, IU fans would say the same thing in larger numbers with far more venom and you know it.

Took the words right out of my mouth.

Oh well, the harsh reality will set in with most of them eventually. They will figure out that Crean actually doesn't walk on water.

I don't think that it will even be a game the next 2 yrs. in Mackey and it might be under 10 in the 09'-10' year but like everyone has said that will be Purdue's best year in a long time. If Crean can't muster up a win the year after that then I really don't know even though I think he will.

I don't know why the 08'-09' prediction from IU fans is so homerish I mean "IT'S INDIANA!!!!". That quote is just priceless and I am glad other people brought it up instead of me.
