Gotta give it to some IU fans though, they don't let logic and reason get in the way of a good argument. I would really love to hear any explanation at all to how they expect to win at Mackey next year. |

“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves." "I’d take him to the ends of the earth — I’d want him playing for me.” - Bo Ryan on Robbie Hummel

Like Fallen said on a thread yesterday, IU has some of the most extreme homers in the nation. This poll sure backs up his assertion. |

Our best team ever? God I hope so! My vote for best team ever at this point is the 1988 team. I was on the edge of my seat every game that season. 29-4. Troy Lewis, Everette Stephens, Todd Mitchell.... I hate K-State to this day. |

Well, I turned two years old in '88, so I guess my frame of reference is a lot smaller than yours. I just think we will have 4 players that have legit changes at the NBA (Moore, Hummel, Johnson, Grant) in our starting lineup, with Kramer being a 3 year captain and working on his 3rd straight Defensive POY award. Smith is a legit 3 point assasin. Painter has raved about Jackson, saying "He will take the Big Ten by storm", which he didn't even say about any of the players from the '07 class. Byrd, Barlow, and Robinson, along with hopefully another big man would provide good depth. We would probably need Robinson and the other big man to contribute on the boards, but they would only really need to fill a Calasan/JJ (of this year) type role, which I think Robinson and our targets could fill. That starting 5 will be in its 3rd season of playing together. If all are healthy, we will be absolutely deadly. |

Which is fine, thats your opinion. The only thing that I'd want, which you don't have to, is a logical explanation. It obviously won't persuade me, but I'd love to hear an attempt at an explanation. |

Not anticipating an answer. I do find it funny that there have been at least 13 IU people have voted, yet only two have responded, and neither have given a reason. Oh well, nothing unexpected. |

Its funny because before they got a coach their list for acceptable coaches were ridiculous, Pitino anyone? Then after he was chosen it was like he was the Bobby Fisher of basketball who had been discovered. Marquette wasn't a slouch of a school, and they don't scimp on the bill for their basketball program. The name is better at IU, but I don't think its going to be that big of a difference. |

There is about a .00001% chance we win at Mackey next year. However, you have no business calling anyone else a homer if you don't think IU could win at home. I would put that at about a 25-30% chance of happening. Also, assuming they play twice a year, I would have a hard time believing we don't win in the next 3 years. Our class this year isn't great, but it's not bad either. For 09 though, we already have 2 top 100 players and i've read many reports saying that Capo could rise into the top 100. I'd like to think we would sign at least 1 if not two more for that class (I think we get at least one more), and by the time they are sophomores we should have a nice little ballclub. I would be very surprised if we lose the next six. |

We don't play at Assembly next year. But I'd bet $1 on IU to win at Mackey if I win $100,000. 100:1 Still bet on IU 50:1 STILL IU 20:1 I'd have to think about that one... :D |

The only game next season is at Mackey. The year after will be a team that is far more talented and far more experienced than the Hoosiers. Our '09 class will be every bit as good as the Hoosiers' '09 class to add onto the talent and experience already in place. There will be way too much talent on Purdue's roster to overcome any homecourt advantage. The 2010 game at AH will be the best chance, and I just don't see Moore/Hummel/Johnson as seniors losing a game to a team that probably won't even be in the top 25. In 2011, IU will finally have the experience and depth, and I'd put the chances of Purdue winning at AH at about 25-30% by then. |

Also, I don't really understand why you make fun of us for being excited about Tom Crean saying "It's Indiana." It's been a while since we've had a coach that was just as passionate to be coaching here as us fans are. Maybe that is all you have better to do than celebrating your next 3star, nobody has ever heard of him signing. (Don't respond to that, I just wanted to get a jab back to make myself feel better) :) |
