Welcome to Our Hoosier Board!

Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions.

Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful.

Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine!

Cheers,
sirbrianwilson

I would really love to hear any explanation at all to how they expect to win at Mackey next year.

Never did get an explanation for this. Anyone want to try and take a stab?

No explanation needed. We're not going to win at Mackey next year. Hard to do when we have our worst team probably in my lifetime, and you guys have the best. Anyone saying differently is incompetent or trying to start some shit!

dc, I should have stuck up for you the other day on the IU board, but it appeared that they just needed to let off some steam, and you were their designated whipping boy.  Glad to see you still have the right stuff.

Its all good. I don't quite know what it was all about, but it was what it was. I'm not going to get back into it because it was pretty much pointless to start out with. They have their moral "victory" of "putting me in my place".

Way to sacrifice, DC. Hopefully you can continue to eat that "loss" as it will be all IU fans will have to claim as a victory for quite a while. We all acknowledge and appreciate you taking that hit for the team, way to go!

Yeah, they aren't going to win many games the next few seasons. It will be interesting to see if they still enjoy those guys who "just want to wear that Indiana on the front of their chests" when they are getting beat night in and night out. Its tough being a fan when you know going into every game your team is probably going to lose (us Purdue fans know, the last year of Keady and first year of Painter were awful).

Crean has his work cut out for him. He has done about as good of a job as you could ask for so far, but will that translate into the type of success that the fans expect? This talk of top half of the Big Ten and then contending within a few years, is just flat out ridiculous. The teams the next couple of years will be as bad or worse than some Northwestern teams of past years.

What is flat out ridiculous about us contending in a few years? I expect in 3 years for us to have a pretty damn solid squad, what is so unreasonable about that?

That team in year 3 will not be as good as you think, especially if Crawford isn't around.

I don't think we will light up the world, but I think we will contend in the Big10. Our recruiting class this year is 3rd I believe according to ESPN. Next year's class will be one of the tops in the league and I'm sure we will do fine the years after that. Saying that we won't be able to contend is a biased comment that is false. National championship woud be a pipedream but contending in conference we will.

Fourth actually, if you go by the recent top 25 article.
3. Ohio State
16. MSU
25. Minnesota

Personally, I think the honorable mention was more because Crean's done a good job filling a truly empty roster than from an objective comparison to the other incoming classes. And I'm with DC here, I don't think this class is going to develop into a B10 competing team. There's no leadership or experience at all.

Obviously our experience is lacking something fierce. But you nor I have any idea what type of leadership qualities these kids possess. If nothing else, I would like to think that Crean could enstill upon them such qualities. If nothing else, I would expect Hulls to be a good leader in 2 years (I've heard many Paulus comparisons) even though he would be a freshman. Normally freshman leaders don't happen, but when it's only you and sophomores then it's much more possible. Your team lacked both last year and while they didn't a true leader, I think that they gelled well together and played with as much heart as any time that I've seen. That's really all I could ask for next year's team.

2 IU homers voted 08-09. Unbelievable.        Posted Image

Why do you care? Just so you know I voted 09-10.

Because it is a fucking joke. Not realistic. Ridiculous. Laughable. If the situations were reversed, IU fans would say the same thing in larger numbers with far more venom and you know it.

...see, this is when this board is at its best...this is some good ass shit...i really do love you guys...

...come on bob, the people who voted 08-09 are most likely homers, i agree...but man, don't go so far as to call the prediction 'unrealistic'...not many things in college bball are 'unrealistic'...

...i for one vote 09-10...cam, don't say this won't happen because that will be your best team ever...do you think that you will go undefeated that season?...IU vs. pu will always be a tough matchup, no matter who's on the court...and unless 08-09 is just a complete and total disaster then i think assembly hall will, arguably, be the toughest place in the country to play in 09-10...as you say that will be your greatest team ever and your players will have an enormous amount of weight on their shoulders to carry...will they be strong enough to walk into assembly hall that night and bring home a win...WOW...that might be the best IU vs pu game ever!!!...FUCKING EXCITING AS HELL...can you guys imagine this board that night?!!!

From another thread. Here are their starters for next season and season outlook:

Starters:

PG- 1981 Championship Banner
SG- 1987 Championship Banner
SF- 1940 Championship Banner
PF- 1952 Championship Banner
C- 1976 Championship Banner

Bench:
Tradition, "IT'S INDIANA!!!!!", fan support, Excellence, and "Doing things the right way and not cheating"

2009 Commits
-2009 Championship Banner
-2009 Undefeated Season
-"Returned to Excellence"
-"Hands Washed of Sampson"

Its going to be a great year for Tom Crean and the Hoosiers. I expect tradition to be the top 6th man in the league. The '76 Banner will make it two years in a row of Big Ten player of the year. Tom Crean will win "Best Coach Ever" award.

 ...cam, i do have to agree...that is some creative, funny ass shit...

AH will be crazy that night and this board will be insane.

But Enemy I stand by my statement and would take it further and say there is no way IU wins that game. 6 guys (4 frosh and 2 jucos) are brand new and have never played in that arena in that atmosphere. That place will be crazy. Crawford (?) and Taber aren't going to carry you. You might add one or two more guys but they'll be young too. Hell we've had average Purdue teams beat good IU teams in Mackey. It's not going to be pretty. I'm not knocking your team. You're starting over. It's just that 2+2=4 every time and this game will add up to a slaughter. 2010 may be different.

...hey man, don't get me wrong the smart money next year would be on a slaughter, i agree...all i'm saying is the scenario of us beating you at mackey next year will, without a doubt, be a huge upset...but very rarely in sports, let alone college bball is there a such thing as something being 'unrealistic'...

Congrats on getting a couple of three star recruits for next season. They must be excited to be starting for an "elite" program like IU's. LMAO Feel free to come back and post if you get that elusive 10th W next year.

Ummm.... Yeah, while BT COY Matt Painter is competing for BT championships and making deep NCAA tourney runs the next few years, he "would kill" to have BT doormatt IU's recruiting "success."

Isn't it Carl's Jr. in California..... oh wait, he's from Fort Wayne, my bad.
“He’s always been a guy — maybe to a fault — he would always try to do what I said. That seems like something simple in coaching, but those are the guys I hang my hat on. We’ve had some guys in our program, we had a couple guys that felt I had a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. And they were right — I do have a bias towards E’Twaun Moore. I like guys that go to class, that are academic All-Americans, that come early, that stay late, that love the game of basketball. I am biased towards those guys. And I’m biased towards Rob Hummel. But I’m also biased towards their habits, their work ethic, and how they carry themselves."
