| Welcome to Our Hoosier Board! Most of the posters here have been around for nearly a decade now. You'll find their knowledge and insight to be second to none. We have a really strong community and value everyone's opinions. Feel free to jump into any thread and voice your opinion with conviction. We love heated debates and even some fanbase ribbing from time to time. We pride ourselves on the lack of moderation needed to make this board successful. Please remember that we have been around many years and have an astute ability to tell the difference between an immature, childish, trash-talking troll and a passionate fan voicing his or her opinion. It is at the discretion of Jazen and myself whether any moderating actions should be taken at any given time. It's a very, very rare thing. In other words, no worries....you'll be fine! Producing music has been a hobby of mine for the last four or five years. I've never used top of the line software or equipment or anything, and I don't take my creations too seriously, but I'd like to see what some of you guys think about 'em. I use FL Studio 6 and an M-Audio Ozonic controller. I sample from time to time, but the tracks I'm sharing with you are all 100% my own compositions. Let me know what you guys think. http://nilskclark.googlepages.com/home |

right on oldschool...glad to see another musician on-board. but, seriously, you need to get reason...wayyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyyy better (to the nth degree) than fruity loops. i mean...there's no comparison. really, you should use 'em both together. make your loops in reason then organize them in FL. that's what i do. br |

Haha, trust me, I know. Even though I'm sure I could find a pirated copy online if I looked hard enough, I'm too lazy to A) look for and download it and B ) learn how to use it. Which version of FL do you use? |

I've never fugged around with torrents before. I may give it a try later though. Did you listen to the tracks? If so, do you have any suggestions/comments/favorites/etc? I know the mixing is off on...all of them, haha, but it's hard to mix everything properly in FL. I'm sure you know this from experience though. |

i think they're all killer ideas...especially the last two. i love the smooth synth sound. my main suggestion would be to change the drum sample tones. they're a little too "casio" if you know what i'm sayin'. trust me, you could keep it all lined up as it is and just change the drum tones and it'd sound a lot better. look for some urban drum kits. get that deep snare goin' and especially find some looser hats. also, those are all ideas...you could easily turn them into songs by adding a couple different themes, then developing the original idea. but, overall, i think they're great. don't take offense to anything i say. i just analyze music way too much. it's what playing for so many years does to you. br |
