From all accounts the visit went well with Negedu. He's was surrounded by alot of friends and visits with the staff before he leaves. The real juice from the visit was the pick-up game they had in AH where reports have it that there wasn't enough court for Roth. Hands down the best shooter in the country. I know that's a bold statement but, he'll shoot his way into that first 5 and Creek will have to be pretty damn good to get him out. |

Nice information. Now, in your opinion, what are our chances to land Negedu? |

Can't speak for BA, but I have a bad feeling he's going to Memphis. |

I don't agree. Memphis is plagued with players his size and he knows it. Unless he doesn't mind being a sub for a while if at all. Already on roster Shawn Taggart F 6-10 230 Sophomore Richmond, VA Robert Dozier F 6-9 215 Junior Lithonia, GA Pierre Niles F 6-8 310 Sophomore Memphis, TN Hashim Bailey F-C 6-10 273 Sophomore Paterson, NJ COMMITMENTS FOR 2008 Angel Garcia PF 6-10/210 Matt Simpkins PF 6-8/215 25 Wesley Witherspoon SF 6-8/185 5 I don't see much playing time with that roster...... |

40% chance with UT in the lead. GT zero, and memphis behind us I believe. Although Memphis does play in the NBA facility. It'll come down to whether he enjoyed the time he spent with the fellas he was with the last couple of day's enough to be a warrior this year and gut through a rocky first year. Or does he want to go to Memphis and be another face in massive influx of players. They'll have their struggles too. Now UT he'll have a little bit of both. He'll start day one and win games. I never felt like he was ours to lose, but I've never felt like Crean has lost a recruit yet either. He'll be the difference between competitive and an ugly season. Does anyone remember what our record was Alfords freshman year. |

Does anyone remember what we put out there on the court that year? Wasn't Blab a junior and I can't imagine Jobe being worse than Uwe, and Pritchard should be much better. Blab did get to be OK his senior year. Then I think it was Robinson, Morgan, Alford, and Dakich. Simmons was pretty tough early that year and then petered out. My point is, that was a very subpar group of athletes. If Crean can coach, and we know he has integrity and can recruit so far, but if he can coach at a level that we expect an IU coach to be able work at then even without Negedu why should we be expecting a 10 win season. Why not 18 wins and above .500 in conferece? He's got a shooter in Roth, a shot blocker, a post player and some length on the perimeter. Surley the guys we be reminded to block out and play defense. We'll be better than what people think. .....and Roth will start. Creek better be damn good I'm telling you or Roth will start for a long time. Another thing. If Negedu's too good to come to the town that's good enough for the man responsible for his oppurtunity to even play basketball, and get an education, then I wouldn't be suprised to see Williams at the 4. A four guard line-up. |

As much as I would hate to see that I would expect to see four gaurds on the floor a majority of the time just by going who we have on roster right now.....I do think though we may wind up stunning some people in the big 10 because we will def. be battle tested with our killer non-conf. |

Well at least we'll be faster than every team we play... we'll just be giving their bigs career days if they're any better than Taber and Pritchard.... |

I hardly call having a ton of height being "plagued". I'm just saying I can see him fitting into Calipari's system, and Pearl's for that matter, and being lured by those programs' recent success. I just have a gut feeling we're currently third in the running for Emmanuel Negedu. |

Honestly if I was him, with no real loyalties to the state I'd go to Tennessee. I can remember reading about Negedu early last summer and they called him "this years Duke Crews". That's trippy. He'd start for 4 years and win early. Crean's up against it on this one. He beat Tubby for Verdell, and lost to Wright for Sutton, this would be a nice tie breaker. This takes a year off our curve and makes us above .500 by a few games for certain. Plus gives us a true building block to add to. Add Whatford to next years class and in 2010 we'll be a top 10-15 team. |
